View Full Version : 60-85-mile rides north of Seattle?
Hi Ladies!
My sweetie has the weekend off and he might be convinced to drive out of town to ride. I wonder whether you'd have suggestions for rides between Seattle and Bellingham that would go well for people who don't know the area too much (i.e. not too many twists and turns), type of terrain doesn't matter that much but it would have to be pretty enough to justify the trip.
Thanks!!!

I would love to help, but I'm about 60 miles west of Seattle, not north. But, I'm looking forward to hearing the replies for my own future rides. Thanks for asking the question!

I notice the skagit spring classic ride website is still up and you can still access the maps for all the routes. I did the 45 and it was quite a pleasant little roll through the countryside. I understand the 60 and 100 milers were quite spectacular. http://www.skagitbicycleclub.org/libraries/showfilepage/781. Let me know if that doesn't work and I can probably send you a PDF if I figure out how to get it past my security software.

oh, I should add that the routes are between Mt Vernon and Bellingham. There are several loops from which you can pick and choose. The parts nearer to Bellingham are really quite beautiful.
Thanks Ladies!
Due to completely ridiculous wait times at the border (think over 2 hours), we decided that it was better to stay in Canada and rode the area between Fort Langley and Abbotsford (the ride back was most of the time parallel to the border on the Canadian side). Boy! it was beautiful! I don't regret it!
But I'll save the tips for some future time when we can afford to leave on a week day!
Thanks :)
