If you're the roadie I see almost every day speeding down Wilshire Blvd. through Beverly Hills, looking every bit the serious cyclist but for the furry cat ears affixed to the top of your helmet—and did I once see a tail protruding from your shorts, or did I just want to see a tail?—thank you for making me smile on my evening commute. I hope to return the favor someday!

Well, my original post was completely innocent and sincere—:)—but then teigyr had to make the thread all icky…

Ok, just to be clear. R.C. is my partner of 13 years. She IS NOT a furry.
:o
Neither am I.
She did tell me about the cycling lady with the ears. That is all.

I suppose you could make the helmet ornament, these say they are wind tunnel tested to stay onto your lid up to 175 mph :p Available in pig, bunny, dog, cat and ....

Mere cat ears do not a furry make. A furry would've been wearing their entire fursuit instead of just the ears. And wouldn't the strategic, erm, openings cause chafing?
I sewed some black cat ears onto my black winter hat. Partly because it just amuses me, and partly to migitate the "condom tip" visual effect that knit hats tend to develop.
Anyways, carry on....

Boy, am I ever out of the loop. But I think I know what a "furry" might be. I think there was a CSI about it.
I'm so vanilla. (well, except for *some* things...;) )

Yup, Knot, that CSI episode was pretty much unforgettable.
Synchronicity is a funny, funny thing. This is the second web forum conversation about Furries that I've seen in the last two days, and neither forum has anything to do with fetishes!
Unless, of course, our dedication to our bikes could be considered a fetish...

Yes it is. I struggled with that one but DH said it wasn't all THAT bad. I think it is and perhaps I should be concerned with DH then.
I was tired, perhaps that explains my poor judgment :)

I was going to suggest an alternate costume one that puts aero bars on his head, SPD compatible pedals and a Brooks saddle .... but then thought "No, this is a family forum and that's objectifying men" :p :D

Something tells me the person who came up with the knitting pattern never intended to be associated with the likes of...that.

I dunno, teigyr, it seems like you have these photos awfully…handy. Perhaps they were hanging around your desktop before this thread even got started?

I'm pretty tolerant of "special interests", as long as it is consentual so I couldn't care less about the horses, tigers etc but I am absolutely awestruck.
I've never heard of the "furry" thing... This is HILARIOUS.
particularly the little "hobby horse" get-up from teigyr's post. complete with stirrups.... http://www.websophist.com/Laughing_RoflSmileyLJ.gif

Well, after 44 years, I thought I was "in touch" and "informed".
WOW! I just about learned something I previously was unaware of.
In the "Wizard of Oz", is this really what Dorothy was referring to when she said: "LIONS and TIGERS and BEARS, OH MY!"

No, but I think this was what she meant when she said "Toto, I think we're not in Kansas anymore" :p :D ;)
