View Full Version : Water Bottles..........advice please

Ages ago I bought a brilliant water bottle off ebay.usa, with Colorado Springs Bike Shop written on it. I just love anything from the USA. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y272/Missbe/horse.gif
Unfortunately, it has now seen better days, so any advice what type, or make to go for, pros and cons etc.
Cheers.

If you like printed bottles, what if a bunch of us sent you printed bottles from our local bike shops?

I suppose you're going to send her the recycled cycles bottle.
That's a good idea, actually.

Any other cool (not Greggs) bike shop bottles I should look out for, Mimi?

Can't think of any off hand. A local bike club had some made (SIR) and they had mount rainier on them. they were gorgeous. Raleighdon only got one and they were a limited batch. I wish i'd gotten some of those for gifts like this.
(and he already gave his away!!)

The next time I go to a local bike shop, I'll pick you up a bottle. There's a new shop in DC---The Bike Rack--that has a very classy logo on its bottles, so this is a good excuse for me to make a return visit sometime soon. PM me your address. ;)

Yeah, PM your address to me too. I have to send something else overseas, might as well do two at the same time.

I'm very bummed out that The Bike Rack isn't within easy walking distance from work (I only have a 1/2 hour lunch break, so can't go very far). How's their gear and clothing assortment?

Thanks for the compliment!
As for the bottle, it's from Richardson Bike Mart (http://bikemart.com/index.cfm) in Dallas, and has their logo on the reverse side. (Well, in Richardson and Frisco, too, but I shop at the Dallas location.)

Hmmmmm, Dallas, immediately thinks of JR Ewing and Sue Ellen! Phew, that takes me back to 1978. Didn't Doc Holliday come from Dallas?
Now where was I, oh yes, just thinking of a smart Texas bottle on my bike.

I'd happily send someone a bottle from my LBS...although I'm hoping for a trade! I am DYING to have a Slipstream bottle...you know, the one with the awesome blue and orange argyle on it!!! :) If anyone sees one...let me know! Can't find them anywhere, but I wanted to tackle a 7 year old girl who had one at the Philly Pro Race! ;)

I'll offer up a bottle from my LBS...we have two, but neither are particularly clever or anything, they just have their logo's on them.

Yet another person with a great website, wow, your bike is so personalised, everything pink!
By the looks of it you have such a great big family, really lovely photographs. I am always envious of photos like that, as my family is now down to my son, his girlfriend and my fabulous little grandson and of course my super duper partner..........everybody else is 10' under. :(

Kali--The shop is tiny but it is worth a look-see. Not much of a selection of bikes, clothes, parts, etc. However, the owners are very nice and they have some organized rides up McArthur & around DC (I'm on their Yahoo group list and get the emails). They carry some ladies clothes--I believe I saw some Shebeest stuff when I was there. Their shop jerseys are really nice, and the next time I'm there, I might get one, in addition to the bottle for Sally.

Hey, anyone up for a bottle swap? Maybe we each get five bottles & send them to five different TE'ers? They, in turn, can send you one of their bottles? They'd have to be new bottles, though, to be fair.

Just a suggestion.

Secret sister
some kind person (the latest being Crazy Canuck) decides to do it.
Everyone PM's her (sends her private messages ) telling her that they want to play.
Then she sends them other people's addresses and we all send each other stuff.

What a lovely surprise, just received them, I have been poorly for the last 3 to 4 weeks, so this has put a big smile on my face.
I love the chicken on the first bottle http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y272/Missbe/HomeChick-1.jpg

The Soma poly-whatevers are squeezable and they don't leach phenols into your fluids.
gotta find the link...
edit: here's the link: http://www.somafab.com/bottle.html I have three of these bottles, and just love 'em. They don't grow cooties in them, either.

Elk, I love RiverCityBicycles. The top floor with all those bikes is a little overwhelming but very cool. I miss having a place to shop that has such a great selection of women's cycling clothing to try on. It's one of the places that I try to stop at when I'm in PDX.
it lacks squeezability, but has very good suckage...:D

Received a PM, asking if I would like another bottle, could not resist saying "yes please".
Received this parcel, and oh my goodness, was I excited, just like a big kid.

The bottles are smashing, the one from the Interbike Show in Las Vegas, I will not use on my bike, it is too smart, so that is what I will use at work, just to show off. Love the bright colours (OK colors), on the Chile Pepper bottle. My calendar is lovely, my stickers will go on my car when I get it back from the garage. Super cool, the Poison Spider socks, they are so cute.
OMG...............then I discovered one, then two cars for my little Cally, plus Halloween pressies, sweets and pencil. I am now SUPERGRAN! I wanted to get a photo of him when I gave him the presents but I left it at home! I can't put into words how excited he was, of course, the cars you sent are not available over here. You really could not have chosen better cars, he loves cars with paintwork that have flames.
The 2008 calendar of Arizona will be put to good use, I am about to write all special dates and birthdays on it. Arizona looks a fabulous place.
Thank you so very much.

I'm so happy you like everything.
Putting together little packs of love is one of my favorite things to do. :)
And so glad that your grandson liked the cars. I tried to get "american" themed ones as much as possible.
I wasn't sure that you did halloween in England, so I didn't know if the frightful things would scare him.
Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy! :)
