It's all about your ATTITUDE!
Well, up here at work, this is something my Boss emphasizes... that life is all about your ATTITUDE and how you look at it.
With all this rain that Dallas has been having lately, I have really had to adjust my attitude so training is not torture.
I have been lucky to ride outside this past week, and I'm grateful for that. Running outside is going to be a no-go though.
Tonight I have a 8-miler scheduled. It will be all on a treadmill. Now, I could look at this as torture... or I could have a POSITIVE ATTITUDE and embrace it... right?
So, instead of being 1.5 hours of boredom... this is how I'm looking at it:
1) Running on a treadmill for 8 miles is MENTAL TRAINING. If I can do this, I know I can take on bigger and better challenges.
2) I don't have to be outside melting in the humidity and heat. A nice fan will keep me from being miserably hot.
3) I don't have to carry a water bottle and I get a towel to wipe my sweat with.
4) I can monitor my pace and keep a steady mile per hour average.
5) I can eat my gel anytime I want and I don't have to find a place to carry it.
6) No dodging cars on the road or being bothered by car fumes!
Now, didn't I just make running on a treadmill sound enjoyable? OH YEA! Life is all about ATTITUDE baby! Don't forget it!
