Has anyone else sent their Polar heart-rate monitor back to Polar for new batteries and a check over? Mine was giving erratic readings and a weak display (and was 4 years old), so I followed the instructions on the website and sent it back to the company, pre-authorizing up to $75 on my Visa for necessary repairs. I mailed it back on May 28.

It's not back to me yet, and no word from them at all, over a month later. Their website says: "Please allow 7-10 business days for your repair to be completed (during peak seasons, repair time may be longer). "

This is definitely peak season, so everything may be fine, but I'm getting just a little antsy. :( They have not charged my Visa yet, so I assume they're backed up, but I do kinda worry it is lost somewhere. I did send it insured mail.

How long did you have to wait to get yours back from them?

Thanks!
Emily

I don't have one that I have sent in, but I think that is way ample amount of time and would be giving them a call to find out what is going on.

It never hurts to call and check on things.

We send ours to Sark
http://www.sarkproducts.com/

Which doesn't help you now, but for future reference... Turn around has always been very quick. But I think I always choose to have it shipped back quickly.

I"ve had mixed experiences depending on the time of year. I've gotten them back almost immediatly and I've had to wait six weeks. It wouldn't hurt to check with them, but I bet you'll get it after the holiday. I have a cheap back up I use now when I have to send mine in. stacie

Thanks for the posts, gals. I wised up today and checked my delivery confirmation since I'd printed the shipping label myself through the USPS.com site. I should have checked ages ago.... the label status said that the package was returned to the sender (i.e., me) due to an address with an expired forwarding order. On June 1!

So, it turns out I sent my HRM back to the address in the booklet that came with it (I purchased it in 2003), but they have since moved. Somehow I overlooked the new address on their website. D'oh! :(

The bad thing is, since it clearly hasn't been returned to me, it's probably lost or stolen. Thankfully, I did insure it for $175, but now to figure out how to deal with that and file a claim. First trip will be to the post office to check to see that it's not in the back somewhere, but it should have been re-delivered weeks ago. Then to figure out how about the insurance.

I'm just mad at myself for waiting so long to check on it -- being too busy all the time really does have it's down side! :(
