Okay, I finally got to take my bike out yesterday after another 2 weeks of rain. It was nice to ride but it was very humid and the wind was blowing.
It was fun though.
Okay, I started out down our infamous dirt road, that I complain about all the time. I dodge mud here and there and I get down to close to the end of it and there is no where to dodge so I have to go through it. Well, this is cleachy mud and when wet is very slick, okay, no biggy, I'm being careful, going slow, tires slide a little here and there and then I sink!!!!!
Oh crap, of course I am clipped into my peddles, so I'm doing the peddle, peddle, peddle dance trying to get through before I drop over sideways in the mud. LOL,
Okay, I made it, sorry girls no pictures of me covered in mud. LOL
Finally get out of it and, OH MY, my tires are covered in mud so I find the nearest puddle, which, by the way, are not hard to find right now, and go through to clean my tires.
Okay, excitement over, I go on my normal 12 mile trek and I stop to take a picture of one of the horses I see all the time, he or she is sooooo pretty. Head on home and I am coming up this one hill and see something, and slow down to look, and HOLY CRAP, it's a snake heading across the road. Now I am not afraid of snakes but I am on a bike, clipped into my peddles and heading up a hill, my thought is, I am going to surprise this snake and it is going to strike at me. So I scream, swerve left and miss the snake. Reflecting later, I'm thinking Okay, good thing a car wasn't coming. You know how you go through things thinking about what the appropriate thing would be to do the next time. Well, help me out girls, what should I do. Get snake bit, or hit by a car. LMAO
I was telling a friend of mine, "oh whats a girl to do, snake bit, hit by a car, snake bit hit by a car, try to weigh those options out." LOL
Really, I'm making light of it, but please know that I am very careful riding and watch and listen for traffic, but that did suprise me yesterday and made me think afterward.
I guess the snakes are getting drowned out of their homes because later my sister called and said there was one on our dirt road when she left after dropping of my mom and niece for dinner.
Anyway, here is a picture of my buddy I see on these rides.
