I have a race at the end of July and decided on Saturdays to go out and do my race and mileage. (run, bike, run). This was my second time and will have 4 more opporunities before the race. This time it was easier and I assume will continue to do so as my body and legs get use the transitions. Does anyone else do this? Or do you do 1 or 2 of your transition legs a day and then do all 3 (triathlon) at race time?

When I do a duathlon (which it sounds like you're doing), I only do a mini race practice one time before the race (and only about 1/3 of the actual distances of the race), but I do bricks twice a week. Run to bike isn't anything your legs really need to get used to, it's just the bike to run that's the hardest. As long as you're doing a couple bricks a week, you should be fine!
What race are you doing?

I am doing the Luna All Womens Triathlon (Duathlon) in July in Fairview, Oregon just east of Portland. My very first race of this sort.

Oooooo- looks like a good race (I looked it up online). What a great race to be a part of for your first one. I've heard good things about the Luna races!!! The rules section looks intimidating, but don't worry. Just stay out of the draft zone, pass quickly, and be safe out there!! Have fun!!! You're doing the du, right? You HAVE to tell us all about it when you finish! :)
