I rode about 10 miles, but had to peel off to get my hair cut. So, I drove the course to check on her and she's at least 40 miles along the way....she's gonna make it!
Wow!!! I'm impressed!!!! Go Silver!!!!

I did it!!!!! Yeah!
3007 miles in the first 6 months of the year. Waaaayyyy back in January when I started posting on Bike Journal, I tentatively selected 3,000 miles as my annual goal. It never occurred to me that I would have reached it already. It feels good!!!
Just in case you missed when I explained my goal:

And here's my journal: (I've just started to note my other crosstraining activities on the journal)

(note: after our ride last night, I only needed 49 today)

I'm deeply impressed.
My goal is only 2500 for the year. I need to catch up my bike journal entries so I'll know where I am.

Congratulations, Silver. Your story is inspiring, seeing you meet your goals gives me lots of warm fuzzies. You deserved it, but more importantly, you earned it. Now you can ride your Madone in graceful peace for the rest of the year. ;)
Way to go Silver. I'm in awe of you. My goal as of late has become, seeing the sun long enough to just take the bike out. LOL
I guess I need to learn not to be afraid to ride in the rain, but then I still have the dirt road to conquer.
I just hope to someday be as good as you, and many of the other gals are and have the dedication you do. You are all a great inspiration and when I need a kick to get me going, all I have to do is come read on here at some of the things you all accomplish.
YOU ARE AWESOME!!!!

Does this mean you'll change your goal to be 6,000 for the year? :D

You got it!!!! There's someone else here who's challanged me and herself to the 6,000 but I'll let her reveal it herself if she wants to. It will be a stretch, I think, but I'm going for it. :D :D

I don't mind letting our cat out of the bag! If the weather plays nice, I think we can do it. A stretch? Sure, but it will be fun to see how far we get!

Awesome ladies!! How did you get 3,000 in 6 months? Do you have a lot of the time during the week? I have a goal of approximately 2,000 more miles this year. My guess is we will achieve it by continuing to ride 100 miles in a weekend and sneaking in weekday rides until the time change. I wish we had a better plan though.

Ama, I run my own business and am able to ride in the mornings. In fact, when I schedule my week, I work everything around my cycling. I find I am a happier camper that way. My miles get done early, if I have to stay late to help a client, no problem. I am not pressured to get home and cram a ride in. Cycling is cheaper than therapy and it is an important part of my life.

there's my journal.
I too have my own business and I must confess not as much gets done when it's nice outside. I'm a silversmith and my workshop gets HOT in the hot weather. But that's really a part time job. I've got two teenagers and help care for my in-laws. Although I'm not always working, I am always on call to help or be available for emergencies.
I try to plan for most of my riding to be during the week so that I'm not away on my bike on the weekends since Mr. is only home on the weekends. And it's especially nice now that he's riding too.
