Sunday, October 3.

If you like to climb, or like to suffer, this ride is for you! This is now a pledge ride (although optional) benefiting the American Lung Association. The ride/race is a lot of fun, although a little crazy at the start and on the downhill; with a party at the summit.

I do this "timed event" every year to gauge my Decrepitude Index. Anyone else getting a DI reading this year?

Where is the DI on an HRM? Hmm, you can probably get a rough approximation by charting your declining max heart rate and lactate threshold over the years.

OK, enough about decrepitude and decline, I need to go re-visit the depression thread I guess. Cycling keeps us young!

The problem is work! When you don't have to work, you get to ride more. I wish I could get paid for riding, but not have to ride when it's no fun. But of course still get paid. :D

Yeah, darn it, why can't we be paid for riding? Well, Veronica, you're still young enough, and strong enough, you just might have a future as a pro cyclist. You should start that career by doing the challenge!

I don't think so. I know the men climb it in under an hour. I'm not sure what the women's time is, but I'm SURE I'm nowhere near it. Besides you're a faster climber. YOU should turn pro. :D
