After weeks of obsessing over what to buy and riding everything from Felt to Cannondale and 50 cm all they way up to 56 cm, I settled semi-reluctantly on a Trek 1500. It was comfy, it was solid - I just questioned whether or not this would last me a good 10 years before I'd be itching to upgrade. Enter Trek 2100. The bike I had always lusted after, but was just out of my budget. Enter Craig's List. The website where I spent all my spare time scouring the bike classifieds. I scored an '06 Trek 2100 54 cm complete with computer and shoes (can you believe this guys' shoes fit me like a glove??) for less than the new Trek 1500. And did I mention it has 8 miles on it? Well, not any more, but it did when I brought it home. I'm looking forward to putting many, many more miles on my baby!!!

Thank you for all the notes of congrats on my new baby. I suppose I will have to get some pictures taken for posterity. Oh, and zen it's still all stock right now, but here are the stats:

Fork: Bontrager Race Carbon
Brake Levers: Shimano 105 STI Dual Control
Handlebar: Bontrager Race Lite
Stem: Bontrager Race Lite
Headset: 1 1/8" threadless Cane Creek
Front Der: Shimano Tiagra
Crankset: Bontrager Race, 30/42/52 teeth
Rear Der: Shimano Ultegra GS
Pedals: Shimano PD-M520 SPD
Tires: 700 x 25c Bontrager Select

The components are decent (actually I think almost identical to the 1500), but it's just so light!! And the saddle - all I have to say is whatever is on my mountain bike has made my a$$ into one giant callous so this is like riding on a pillow, LOL. Shoes are nothing fancy - just a pair of Nikes fit with SPD cleats.
