For the past two days I’ve been sneaking out of work early to get in some ride time before the afternoon thunderstorms roll in, as they tend to do here in north Georgia in the late afternoon. Both days I was about 4 miles from home when the storms hit…the first day I was able to wait it out in a coffee shop, but yesterday my bike and I got soaked! I have to admit that it was kind of fun :) .

I have only had my bike since February, and I’ve never been caught in the rain before, so I’m completely lost as to how to take care of it after a downpour. I did the towel off and re-lube, is there anything more I should be doing?

Thanks!
Laura

If the gears look sandy, I would probably do a clean up of the gears and chain. Otherwise I don't know what to do either.

We ride in the rain a lot here in Seattle.

Dry and lube like the others said. My LBS says if you store the bike indoors you don't need to worry too much about corrosion and the bike will dry out quickly.

My bikes live in the living room and bedroom.

Thanks so much for the advice…I’m completely overprotective of my bike and I want to make sure it stays in good condition. It is definitely an indoor bike, lives in my bedroom.
