I bought both a black Falcon X and a pink Damselfly from Terry to try on my new bike. I'm sending one back within 30 days. Of course I had to try the pink one first and promised myself I would be objective and keep the one that was truly the most comfortable ... even though I wanted that pink one so bad and it looks SO sweet on my bike with the pink handlebar tape and bottle cages, not to mention my pink and black jersey!

When I first got on it I thought it felt pretty good. I did a few rides with it, then tried the Falcon. Ick!!! No contest! The PINK SEAT WINS!

However, I've yet to try the Fizik Trans Am that's on the tandem. I'm curious how that feels on my single.

There are so many saddles out there, it's impossible to try them all, but I think I'm doing pretty good with the Damselfly. Maybe down the road I'll discover something even better, but for now ... it's PINK FOR ME!!!

Woo hoo!!! :D

I have had the pink seat on my Surly for the last year+, and it doesn't quite rock my world. It is a bit stained, from a rainstorm (which managed to pull the blue ink out of my pants), but other than that - it's in great shape. I'd like to rid myself of it and buy a new saddle. I'll give someone a good deal, if they want it. Otherwise, I suppose I'll throw it up on a local community site. I'm glad it worked for you...it's a pretty seat and it allowed me to 'pink out' my bike. Unfortunately, I will have to un-pink'ify my bike for something with a bigger cut out. I think I'm going to try the Selle SLK Gel Flow or Easy Seat. If anyone has any insight on these saddles, please share.

I went with the Falcon X over the Zero for the larger cut out. So far so good.

The day I bought it my shop guy asked me if I wanted the placement the same as the old saddle. I told him if he put it on upside down it was bound to feel better than that Bontrager:D (it does)

Well, you see, I have this problem. I was a dork and only ordered one pink bottle cage. I realized it a few days later and ordered the other one, but it SITLL hasn't arrived! So, I currently have one pink one and one silver one. I can't possibly take and post pictures of my only partially pinked out bike!

However, I'm in a bit of a quandry. I actually kind of like the silver bottle cage (cause I have silver on my bike, too.) DH wishes I'd just put two of those on there and pointed out I still have pink bottles. :) I don't know. For now I'll do the two pink ones if the one I ordered from Terry ever arrives. I have learned things take a LONG time to arrive from Terry. Yet my jerseys from TE arrived in like three days! Awesome!

Anywho, patience my darling. Good things come to those who wait! ;) It shouldn't be long now.

I agree I appreciated the larger cut out, but my sit bones were not pleased at ALL with the larger seat. I wonder if there's one out there the same width as the Damselfly, but with a larger cut out like the Falcon X. In pink, of course!!! :D

I would suggest going to the Terry site and looking at some of the men's saddles.... I think that the Falcon Y will have the larger cut out, but will be narrower in the back more like the Danselfly.

I found that I loved the large cut out on the Liborator X, but it was too wide in the back... got a Butterfly, and while better in back, not the cut out is too small. I think the next one to try is going to be the Liberator Race...it looks to have the bigger cut out and is just a tiny bit smaller in the back than the butterfly.

And the best thing is that you get 30 days to try out the saddle and if you don't like it send it back to Terry. (if the saddle you are interested is here on TE, they have an even better return policy on the Terry saddles with 90 days!)

From what I understand, the Selle Gel Flow is the exact same saddle as the Selle Trans Am, just different names. I have the Trans Am on my tandem and it's the first saddle I ever got to know intimately. ;) I'm planning to try it on the single, but haven't had a chance to yet. I think anything I have on my single is going to feel different than on the tandem because I can get up and move around and reposition myself a lot more often on the single. So, it's hard for me to judge what it's truly like in that situation. The Selle bothered me a lot in the beginning, but I was also just getting used to riding, so ANY saddle would have been a "pain in the butt"! (And/or other parts for that matter!) Over time, I started to get used to it, but never knew if anything else would be better. I'm actually kind of anxious to try it on the single now that I've gotten a good feel for these other two saddles and know what I like and don't like about each. Trouble is, I won't be able to ride for several days now, so I won't be able to test and report back until maybe next weekend. Yet, what works for me will quite possibly not work for you anyways. I would say the cut out on the Selle is similar to the cut out on the Falcon X, which I like. I haven't fully examined them side by side, but they seem similar.

I probably gave you a whole lot of nothing to help you, but at least I tried! You might try posting this as a new thread for more replies.

I ride the men's Fly, which is narrower than the Butterfly. I was torn between the Fly and the Falcon Y which was awesome for shorter rides. Anything over about 50 miles, and the Falcon Y started to hurt in the sit bones more than it should. BUT, that may not be the case for everyone. It's definitely narrower than the Falcon X and I believe it has the same cut-out. It might be worth a try!

Oh, and if anyone likes the Butterfly but finds it too wide, try the Fly.

I'm currently using the Falcon X and am happy with it, but am thinking about switching for a slightly narrower saddle because on longer rides the Falcon does chafe a bit. I was looking at the damselfly and might have to try it-I have a black Allez with pink bar tape and pink water bottles so it might complete the pink look. I never thought of pink bottle cages though, I'll have to check out the Terry site.
