Hi all:
I hung out here quite a bit last year and then after doing ALC5, got burried by work and the bike gathered dust. The job blew up and now I'm unemployed...so from now on... I work to ride...
So here I am taking care of the dogs, cats, birds belonging to my teammates from last year and watching all the ALC goings on.
Suffice to say, I am signed up for ALC 7 and I'm doing the ride next year come hell or high water!
I'm on the look out for a coach, of sorts to help me with my hill skills, and am gonna try to head back to the gym. 30 pounds less would make me a better cyclist!
And I'm gonna come back here! You are such a great crowd.
RIDE ON !

I remember you :)
Good to see you back. I'm sorry about the job situation though :( How is the new job hunt going?
I'm sure you'll find a job soon. In the meantime, your bike will be happy you dusted it off.
I look forward to hearing about your ALC7 training!
Take care

I remember you too Shadon... I remember how cool your name sounds out loud.
Glad to hear you are finding your way back to the bike.
Like you, I am sick of being buried by work and this year and last have been making a concerted effort to bring no work home with me
I join CC in looking forward to hearing about your training and goals

The job hunt is only so-so. Pet sitting and occassional temp jobs are keeping my head above water. San Francisco folks, I'm available to look after your critters :)
This week has been really hard. Being here, with my fantastic teammates (Four Whirled Peas, a subsidiary of Team Dino!) out there doing the ride.
Yoga, cycling here I come!

That makes me chuckle since it's just a combo of my first/last names!
I'm gonna start doing Yoga, since I keep hearing that it can really make a difference in one's cycling. I gotta figure out a way to stick with trying to loose 30 pounds, for a variety of reasons, the least of which is that 30 fewer pounds is lighter on the bike! And I'm gonna ride like the wind!, once Team Four Whirled Peas is home on Sunday. Everyday, if I'm not working, I'm out on the bike!
So that's the plan for now!

ALC is the AIDSLifeCycle, a 545 mile ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles. I think that there are at least a few TE women doing this years' ride. ALC 5 was the most amazing experience of my life...and I'm doing it next year..every last mile!

Wow. 545 miles. I'll be happy to simply do a century some day. How many days does that take? Good for you for going for it!
