I'm looking for perfect pink handlebar tape? Any suggestions? I don't want hot pink or dark pink. Just nice pretty pink. This is for a road bike with bar gel already on the handlebars.

the best pink tape I've tried is made by Fizik! It's kinda like golf club or tennis racquet wrap (not corky). I put it on my cyclocross bike two years ago and it's been through mud, rain, sand, etc and it's still perfectly clean!

Thanks. I was just looking at the Fizik brand.

I've never bought handlebar tape before. What do I want to look for in a tape? What's the difference in cork and whatever else there is out there? This is for my first single and I will have my hubs old handlebars on it. They have a bar gel thing already attached to the bar, so the Fizik might be perfect. I'm guessing I don't need anything too "squishy" with the bar gel already on.

I don't know what we have over the bar gel on the tandem. The LBS put it on. I suppose I should call them and see if they have pink tape and what it is!

My LBS just got the coolest bar tape I think I've ever seen - though I don't remember any pink (untinted, red, orange, aqua, green). It's see through!! There's clear and some tinted ones too. Even aqua that matches my kit pretty well. The owner though it would be cool to write stuff on your handlebars then wrap them with this bar tape. It would probably look pretty nifty on carbon bars too.

I believe Terry carries a pretty pink bar tape, last time I looked through their catalog. Try here on Team Estrogen first, though, since they're our sponsors! :D

Well, I talked to my LBS yesterday about it and asked what they put on our tandem and if they had it in pink. They do. Then I said, "But what kind of pink is it?" Here I am talking to a "guy" asking him what kind of pink the stupid handlebar tape is! I could tell he was busy and probably thought this was the most ridiculous conversation ever. I told him I, for instance, didn't want hot pink. Just basic pink. He said, "It's breast cancer pink". I said, "Breast cancer pink is good!" :) He sort of apologized in case saying that was offensive, but I thought it was a perfect description because everyone knows what breast cancer pink is. ;)

By the way, they use Specialized BG Phat tape. It's a kit, actually, with cushioned pads they put on the bar first and then cover with tape. My handlebars already have the pad, so they just need the pink tape. And I know what it feels like from riding the tandem, so I think it will be good.
