My normal day in May consists of riding home from work at 3pm after eating a light snack (a fruit, some cookies, some water) that's 4 miles and 300 feet of climbing, it takes me 20-25 minutes.
On Thursdays however, I drive to work and home and then get my bike and ride about 5 miles to my evening class downtown. (and ride a bus part way too) So instead of my exercise starting at 3 on Thursdays, it starts at 4.
After just 2 miles of riding, i hopped on the bus. When the bus dropped me off downtown, i felt really depleted. (now it's close to 5pm) There's only 4 more miles to ride to get to where restaurants and my class are, and it's all uphill, but a very gentle grade. Rode up the hill, noticing I didn't have much energy. Got to restaurant.
Decided to sit and wait on the outdoor patio while DH ordered our meal, because i didn't feel like standing (!).
Ate. still not feeling very perky.. Drank a 12 ounce lemonade with my meal (I never do that!!) but it went right down. Ate my meal which didn't taste as good as it should (tacos) and went to class at 6pm.
In class I was sleepy, slightly queasy, fagged out... until about 7pm when finally all I ate was metabolized and I felt like myself again.
If I had been on a long bike ride instead of sitting in a chair, I would have been a disaster!!!
