Hey everybody!! It's really me this time. This will be pretty short 'cuz I am just home on "furlough" for a couple of hours today. The great great great news is that I'll be home for good tomorrow afternoon!! I'll post more information tomorrow, but for now I'll just say that I am doing much better and so very anxious to be home. Lots of new challenges, for sure, but a very positive step!

Thanks to you all for all of the encouraging words, cards, letters, etc. You gals are truly wonderful and have been a huge part of this healing process for me.

I'll be back in a day or two with more... :D

Jeannie--That's great news! Just in time because I was going to send you a letter tomorrow. Sorry I didn't get anything to you this week, but I lost my wonderful, sweet Agnes on Friday. Last week was terrible. It's been very difficult for all us of -- human and canine -- in our house. Please PM me your home address, as I'd love to keep corresponding. In the meantime, keep up the good work!!!

Super fabulous news, Jeannie! Loads of happy healing butterflies in every colour headed to your home.

Now that you'll have steady internet access, PM me with your email address if you'd like to receive my picture a day. I think the beautiful flowers and such will help in your recovery just a little...

Hugs,

Thanks everyone for the welcome back. It IS really good to be home.

I have to be honest and tell you I am struggling with a number of things. Everything is a major undertaking - even taking a shower and washing my hair! I realize it's going to take time - probably a very long time - but it's hard, and I find myself getting just a little discouraged.

I promise to check back in when I'm in a better frame of mind. I HATE being a whiner!:o

I thought that might be the case, Jeannie.
It is a definite phase but it passes quickly and you'll begin to see your small victories and improvements again.
Believe me, I've been there.

Jeannie-

Never worry about venting here!!!

You're home - that's a victory. You're taking a shower and washing your hair - that's a victory.

Things WILL get easier as time goes on - just look at how far you've come! You're an inspiration to us all:)

TE gals are behind you, praying for you or lighting candles for you

Jeannie,

So glad to hear the great news that you are at home! I've been swamped unlike ever before these last couple of months doing a self-study Coastal Navigation class (sailing), so cycling has kinda taken a back seat in my life yet again. I couldn't even allow myself to come onto TE as I would spend time here instead of studying, so I had to go cold turkey -- this is my first post since March!! Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I had thought of you often, and really appreciated your sweet snail-mail note from early April. :) Happily, I'm through with class now, passed the difficult exam, so I'll have more time for riding (and checking out TE!) again now. :D

Hope your healing continues to come along and that you'll be riding that beautiful new bike before too long. It does take TIME (and the patience of Job) to come back from a serious injury, and you had it worse than most, but I'm here to tell you that you will be back! I can hardly believe it's been two years since my accident, but I'm doing just great now, and you will be too.

Keep those spirits up and just take it a day at a time.

All the best,

Emily

Thanks so much for the encouragement, everyone. It means so very much!:D

Emily, glad you passed your exam. Thank you for making your first post such an encouraging one to me.

Every day IS a victory.
