I wear glasses, so figured that my eyes would be protected when riding, but find that the wind (and bugs) get in behind my glasses, causing me to tear up and blurr my vision. Any suggestions? I am not a sunglass wearer - have always found it to through off my perseption so looking for a clear view remedy. Thanks in advance for any help. I just bought a rode bike and am hoping to start commuting back and forth to work, but find my eyes to be sore and tired when I am done riding.

I got a pair of sunglasses (http://www.sporteyes.com/rpeky.htm#Ekynox%20SX) with clear prescription lenses in them. They fit tight to the face and keep the wind, pollen, bugs, etc out.

That's probably the best solution.

Thanks for the info - guess I will need to start saving. Just bought the bike, shoes, helmet, shorts, etc.... Hubby may not be too happy if I tell him I now need a new pair of prescription glasses :D

Yet another ditto for the glasses with prescription....my husband has a set of Oakleys made this way.
A little more info....
He tried the prescription insert style glasses and HATED them. They'd jounce around and cause double vision. Unrideable, says he.

I would look into prescription sunglasses. I know you say they throw off your perspective, but I would talk to your eyedoctor about the dangers of being outside without UVA/UVB protection. I would also note that if you plan on doing long miles, glare becomes a big issue. Polarized lenses can help reduce glare and the fatigue/headaches that result from it.

How about some protective safety glasses/goggles made for people to put over their prescription glasses? Like if you are going to mow the lawn or use a power saw or something? I hear they have nice new styles these day.
Or if you don't mind tinted sunglasses, there are some I just got that I like and wear over my prescription glasses when biking. Totally keeps the wind and bugs out- plus it protects my expensive eyeglass lenses.
