View Full Version : Wounded family ride..
So I spun Sat night, and my knee though tight felt good. So Yesterday, Mother's Day we put the little munchkin in the trailer and off we went. I have to admit I was just nervous. My wounds have heald REALLY well. thank science for Percocet and Keflex....to stop the cellutis.
Anyway we took off, and OMG all these people running and cycling they had Tri on base we didn't know about. DH was pissed riding the whole time seeing the guys flying by, but all I wanted was to go slow and heal.
For nights after my wreck, over and over , it's all I saw.....
We rode for 2 hrs and let "monkey" walk in the grass as we watched these people fly by.
It felt SO GOOD to be BACK on my bike I missed her so...."Mimi"
Everyone told me......."You obviously don't need to be on a bike." That pissed me off, inevetably it is going to happen.....but I LOVE it.....and am glad my
"Cycling Angels" were with me on my crash, it could have been ALOT worse.
I know it is belated, but, HAPPY MOMMY"S day to ya'll...!!!! My 15 month old will walk up to my knee, and arm...and say "Owie" but she sees me and her daddy on the bike a few days later. So, when my little monkey has her first "owie" she'll know mommy got back on her bike and tooke off!!!!!:D

great work getting back on that bicycle and acting as a role model. forget what the peanut gallery says. you know your ambitions and limits better than anyone.
stop tempting me to get back on the bike, too! ...though I know I will be back on the horse before the bike. for better or worse, I trust the horse more! (sorry, bike). oh, you shoulda seen how gently horse nuzzled me when he saw I was really hurt (and he is not a suck). bike never offered any sympathy! not even those 'oops! I threw her and she didn't get up! NOW I'm in trouble...' eyes...

Woman, you have ALOT more healing to do....but you are SO STRONG!!!
Oh, animals, are more human I think than some 'HUMANS". Our dog, (Rosco) has not left my side since all this happpened, he is right there. I actually dropped one of Kailyn's toy's and couldn't bend down because of my knee, he picked it up and gave it to her...He is AMAZING!!
As far as my bike....the beautiful new light blue tape "she" had put on her was TRASHED, so DH used BLACK duct tape to fix it. However, clipping back in, and riding, "mimi" (yea it's her name) and my helmet saved me from ALOT worse things that could have happened.
I hope you are healing well {{HUGS}} I know that Clavical is a BEOTCH to heal, but you are going to do great!!;)

Yes, I was going to post a "you go girl" for getting back on the back and then a "don't worry you'll be on your horse and bike soon" to run it, ride it, and now all that is on my mind is --
Awwwwwwwww! I want a picture of Rosco!

Here is our bud...Rosco, he's our "first" child, we love him dearly, found him 6 weeks old tied up in a Wal-Mart sack on the side of the road when we were stationed in Arkansas. From the day we brought Kaitlyn home, he's been her guardian, he comes running if she cries, he's by her side when she's outside, he sleeps by her crib, he is a GREAT big brother!! He is AWESOME!!!! Here is our BOY!! Oh yea, that is his hippo that he goes EVEYWHERE with.:D Oh, and if we could find a way for him and kaitlyn to fit in the trailer together.....we'rer there!!!

Oh my... that makes my eyes well up with tears! It sounds like you and I are similar in our feelings about our dogs. Isn't it an amazing feeling to take in a needy dog and have a deep relationship with him? Rosco is so handsome and obviously gentle and loving... Awww.

Yes, he is one of the most "human" people I've ever met. When my husband deployed to Iraq right when the war started I drove him to the base, Rosco was in the truck and he knew something was up. He put his chin on Dh's arm the whole ride. I SWEAR to you, when we got home, I fell to the floor in tears, and he licked my tears and leaned into me so I could hug him....he is an angel sent from above. We love him so much....but he's going blind and we just cherish everyday with him. By the way, I LOVE your avatar, is that your dog, he is SOO cute!!!:D

Yep, that's Hudson my dog. Adopted him last summer! Poor Rosco going blind. He might do very well with it, though... Dogs who go blind gradually apparently adapt to it quite well! Good luck with him! :(
Found in a Wal Mart bag?
And you didn't name him "Wally"?
