My awesome LBS!

My 9 year old daughter has a cheapie hand me down bike that we traded a neighbor when her old one got too small. She only rode it a few times before the end of summer, then it went in the garge attic. It's already too small for her, but I want to see how much she rides, before I spend ton of money on another bike, or worse buy a cheapie again and WISH I'd spent more.

So, I took it to my LBS for a tune up - and they are so cool - besides the tune up they are changing out the pedals for toe clips, replacing the broken reflectors, taking the kickstand off (her request), and adding a water bottle cage. They totally got it!

And I'm sure from past work that they won't charge me as much as they put into it. She is gonna love her pimped "new" bike! :p

Thats pretty cool for a 9 year old. Great way to get her started (and a great way to get her wanting even more expensive stuff;) )

She can handle the toe clips ok?

I bring my LBS six packs of beer when they do something fab-o for me. Can you make some cookies or something that your kiddo can help decorate, and give 'em to the LBS guys in thanks?

They really get a kick out of that stuff. And she might too. (and that would feed the biking bug!)
