Hi everyone,
I'm posting now while I'm thinking about it and while I've got a chance. My surgery is less than 48 hours away now. I'm leaving a detailed note for my husband to post Friday night as they are saying they will be keeping me overnight. I'm supposed to be getting a call tomorrow afternoon to confirm my near exact surgery time for Friday morning. I was told tentatively that I was scheduled to be first surgery of the morning barring any emergencies that may get put ahead of me.
The doctor said they will have me up walking Saturday and I'll likely come home sometime that day. I'm sure everything will depend on how the surgery goes. I'm getting nervous and anxious at the same time, but considering how long I've been waiting to deal with this, I'm sure that's natural. Of course it's just in time for a heat wave to hit Indianapolis (humidity too) so I'm going to be miserable without air conditioning when I come home, another reason I'd liked to have had this done during colder weather.
My husband's name is Mark and goes by Kapt_Karkus on bikejournal for those who might have met him there. I will post myself as soon as I'm up to sitting at the computer (I really don't have any idea of exactly what to expect after this surgery) I just hope it's successful and I can feel my legs and feet without pain there or in my back. I miss my grandsons and my bike and life in general.:(

Good luck Mary! When I had the same surgery 6 years ago I couldn't believe how instant the relief was from the pain down my leg. Hopefully it will be that successful for you too!

Take care, and listen to your doctors, and as soon as you feel up to it walk, walk, and then walk some more!

Ditto. When you're so bad you can't see straight, any little bit of relief will seem like a miracle. I'm sure you will be much better afterwards.

Thanks again everyone, this may be my last post for a while. I'm going to get some last minute things done tonight. I have the final (well at least till after I get to the hospital) confirmation time for my surgery. I'm scheduled at noon tomorrow so I now have to be at the hospital at 10 am. They definitely will be keeping me overnight so I will have Mark post an update tomorrow evening when he gets home. I don't know ifthey will keep me any longer than Saturday but I will post when I am able and try to have Mark post updates when we can. Thank you all.

Good luck Mary and take care of yourself. Follow the Drs orders to a T. I have several patients that felt so good after their surgeries that they did too much and ended up back on the operating table! So heal fast but be cautious.:D
