Gasp! I bought girlie underwear! (though how girlie is it really, if it's from REI?)
http://www.rei.com/product/742857?vcat=REI_SEARCH
I got the Flaming-o Pink with the crazy flower (not a hibiscus, or I wouldn't've bothered. maybe a passion flower?) on the left hip. The Flamingo is more of an orange color than pink. Like the inside of a really ripe peach. I dig that the decoration is asymmetrical. I dig asymmetry.
Patagonia calls it a "brief" but I'd call it closer to a bikini fit. But then I'm an ol' fuddy-duddy. The seamless aspect is nice, the fabric is lucious, the flower and the red trim are perky. I like that the waistband is very soft and doesn't cut in at all.
This brief DOES NOT MOVE from it's designated spot. No creepy-crawlies. No subtle wedgie action. I am not a petite lil' thang by anyone's estimation, but the hind-end of these briefs streched just fine to cover all of my posterior and never shifted on me. I'm a size 12 or Large in just about everything, and I did fine with a pair of size Large.
At $18 I would never have bought a pair of these, but on sale for $12 they made a pretty nifty splurge. (and they're cute. I had to get 'em cuz they're *cute*)
