Would someone pleas come over here and kick my azz into gear. I'm finding every excuse to procrastinate going out for a medium length, intensity brick. The real reason, it's cold and it's windy and I'm sick of this weather. I'm almost ready to have a nap instead of working out.
I have an acute case of lizard butt, (draggin' azz).

Once you get out the door and start moving, you'll be fine. It's not raining at least.

Get your a$$ out there and try. You may find you enjoy it. I forced myself to ride yesterday in similar conditions and actually enjoyed it.
(Then again, if you're really looking for someone to give you the permission to take a day off and relax, then do it. You may also need to go easier this week because you've been sick.)

I wish I could tell you to get out there, but I'm voting for the nap. I'm having that kind of day myself, and I know I need to be on the bike for a couple hours, but I'm just soooo tired.
If you need to rest, rest. You're lack of "motivation" may be your body telling you to take today off.
Sorry I'm not trying to kick your lizard butt out the door.

Gotta second Tri Girl. Sometimes you have to listen to your body telling you "no".
I'm with you on the cold and windy weather. It only warmed up to 46 degrees here, with 20 mph gusts. The thought of going for a swim isn't pleasant. I'm scheduled for an hour today and an hour tomorrow. Ugh

Lizards are cold blooded, and because of that, it could actually be hazardous to your health to go outside in cold windy weather. I think that you should stay in and nap, preferably under a blankie. For the sake of your health, only for the sake of your health.
how do you like that...a biological excuse...next???? Anyone???/

Shortly after reading the posts from Velobambina and KG my DH walked in the door and said:
This is a mental toughness day. If you don't go, you'll doubt yourself. If you do go, you've already won. If you have a bad workout physically, cut it short and come home, but at least you know that you are tough enough to face the conditions. On race day, you'll remember that you're mentally strong enough to take it on and that's half the battle.
So I got dressed and hit the road. I rode 25 miles, averaging close to 17 mph, even with the wind and some moderate hills. I transitioned to a run and I got a HUGE side cramp. Haven't had one of those in awhile. So I had to slow down and I ran 3.5 miles total instead of 4.5. So I'm happy. DH was right, I know I can tough it out. I kept a close eye on my HR the whole time. My issue today wasn't physical, I can always tell by how my HR reacts when I try to kick up the effort level. It was mental, and I beat it.:D :D :D
As much as I appreciate the advice about listening to my body, I'm glad the timing was such that I didn't get those later posts before I headed out. I'd be just waking up from a nap right now.;)

See- as I was writing my post I was thinking "she's probably already out there." I was right. I KNEW you'd head out- you just needed to vent.
I, on the other hand, took my nap and have slept on and off all day long. I know for sure I'm coming down with something as I'm feeling pretty flu-ish right now. I guess I needed the sleep like you needed the workout.
Good for you for getting out there!!!

It just doesn't fit when I see a message posted called "Laaaaaazzzzzyyy" by Wahine. That's not a term anyone here would use to describe you. :) Glad you were able to overcome your lack of motivation.
