dog probs again

ive not been contributing much recently as 3 yr old dag had stopped eating/drinking started being very lethargic and we had 2 days of shivering,and sometimes she swings her head from side to side.


took her to the vets yesterday,hr,pulse,lungs etc FINE,he gave her an antiin flamatary and some rehydration sachets im syringing into her mouth,


NO improvement.stopped shivering really.so ..................what now???

how long do virus' take to pass their way through???


managed to get her to eat a weeny bit of chiken last night,which she has since sicked up..........

Is her temp. normal (100.5 - 102.5 F)?

Did the vet pull blood for a chem/CBC?

Shivering can also be caused by pain, did your vet check her spine for problems? Several back pain will cause dogs to stop eating, to tremble, etc.

could it be a form of food poisoning? you said your dog was 3 yrs old, that's young...

Shivering makes me think poison too - my first corgi was poisoned when she ate mouldy walnuts shells the squirrels had buried.

Make sure your vet takes blood and has her kidney function checked out- ESPECIALLY with the recent pet food contamination issues going on.

To lose a family member is never easy and a dog so young is really hard. My heartfelt sympathy. Though his life was short, know that you gave him a good home, a loving home and a wonderful time while he was here.

I am truly, truly sorry for your loss. I recently had similar problems with my fifteen year old. He was immediately given blood tests and hospitalized for two days for rehydration. (saline iv) He is being picky about food but otherwise fine.
Please, if you have anymore pets find a better vet for them.

What a bummers!!! It's always hard to losing a child, your dogg, that something that you have no control over.

Is it possible that your pup took a gamble with a frog or toad?? Or it's possible that it was a immune virus which are hard to detect.
