Has anyone here ever rode/raced the Mt Greylock TT? I'm interested in dong it, but I'm not finding a whole lot of info about it.

Thanks for the help!

I've never done Mt Greylock (at least not on a bicycle- it's a nice hike).

Are you familiar with this website?http://www.northeastcycling.com/NE_Climbs_main.html
It's got a ton of info about hillclimbs and has a section on races that includes Mt. Greylock.

That race isn't going to happen this year or next because the Mt. Greylock road is closed for extensive repair and regrading. There will be no road access to the top of Greylock for I believe the next 2-3 years. The monument and buildings on top will all be closed. I know because I'm part of the group that maintains the Appalachian Trail in Mass. We wanted to rebuild the Wilbur Clearing Shelter on the north side of Mt. Greylock this year but can't because of the road closure and no way to transport in the materials. Hiking trails on the mountain will remain open, but don't count on finding water or any facilities on the summit.

Thank you for the information! I had indeed searched the website, but it had no mention that Mt Greylock wouldn't happen this year. I'm bummed, but quess I'll have to find another one!

Thanks again!

Have you looked at Mt. Ascutney or the Mt. Agamenticus TT in Maine? These are both essentially uphill TTs that WILL happen this year. Check bikereg.com (http://www.bikereg.com)for info on the races - dates, registration, etc.
