I had a great time reading about the Hot Male Riders, but I think it's time to remind you ladies that lots of riders who coast past YOU are thinking the same thoughts!
What is sexier than a woman who is happy, confident, enjoying the outdoors, being independent...all while showing off sculpted legs and a big grin? :D :D :D Strut your stuff and be PROUD of who you are!!

I think women are more discreet. We glance over, we admire, we move on with our lives.
Too often when I'm out riding I hear a lot of crap. Cars toot their horns (jolting me practically right off my bike), construction workers yell out, one group of road maintence crew actually broke out into applause. It was mortifying. And I'm no hottie either. I'm 42, way too curvy to be considered athletic/tight and I'm not exactly cruising along a la Lance Armstrong.
I hate it - sometimes it really ticks me off. I mean honestly - do these guys think scaring the piss out of me or yelling out the car window is a compliment?? I make a point now to dress super conservative on the bike - high neck jerseys to keep the girls well covered, no shorty shorts etc.

Thanks lizbids, you're right. Curvy, straight, big, small, short, tall, everything in between, you're right. :)
(but for me, this thread is fine without pics :D)

Yeah, a lot of the women I ride with are at least 10-20 years older than myself and they make me look pathetic:p I look up to them because I don't want to end up like a lot of people that age, sitting around eating poorly and being overweight. And they get woohooed by young guys and can hang with the young guns:eek: :o Definately makes me look slow and pays homage to my bicycling elders:rolleyes: :D

I also get tickled when some young guy whistles or evidences other tactful appreciation while I'm on my bike.
They don't know about the gray hair under the helmet. ;)

Well, like I said in the Hot Male Riders thread:
People who cycle a lot have wonderful bodies that are a delight to gaze upon.
That's "people", as in either sex. :) Healthy fit bodies just plain look good!

I agree with you but the girl a the top of the website, that is what I'm aiming for! I may not look exactly like it, but I'm on my way. I also pay homage to all those female riders out there they to look great! It's just.....the men are more fun to drool over!:D

Yes, it is disheartening when certain kinds of men cat-call and try to reduce your self-worth by saying disgusting things as you go by:mad:  But, what I was trying to say that there are plenty of guys out there who are liking the way you look but are polite enough to do what we do: get a nice glimpse and move on (though those guys seem few and far between!) :o

When I hear a "whoah" as I pass by the construction site on the corner of my street, it is always said in the same tones of incredulity and wonder with which one might say: "look! Godzilla!". I don't think they mean it as a compliment. Bastards.

I hate it when people honk their horns. Just startling.

i was honked at for the first time last week. i thought i was pretty cool too. ego booster. it was by someone in a very nice cadillac too. then again that someone in that caddy was my roommie and her sister, but i still felt special.

I have a wickedly overdeveloped startle reflex so getting honked at about flips me off the bike. :(

I just snorted water onto my keyboard! :D
I know exactly what you mean, though. Last night the guys working on the railroad tracks all just stopped and stood there watching me ride by. I think they were probably wondering why in the world anyone would commute by bike...or "is that a woman? hard to tell without much chest" :p

"Is she a he?"
"Is he a she?"
He either has nice pecs or she's very streamlined...
...and has a real tight, round a...

Funny how a thread on how we should be proud of our sexy physiques- and that there are women out there who wanna look a lycra-clad, estrogen pumpin' biker chick up and down and go "RRrrrrrRRRow!"
...sorry... I got carried away.:o :o
What I mean is, it's funny how such a thread would automatically drift into how men will catcall from construction sites or honk their horns, etc...
I've been honked, I've also had small kids ask "Mom, why is that boy wearing a bikini?"
*shrug*
just wanna say, biker chicks have delightfully smooth, admirable bodies to touch and gaze upon as well.
I love 'drafting' someone on her Novara. Thankfully her braking practices aren't quite as bad as mine! :p :o

I keep my hair pretty damn short, but for whatever reason, I'm not often mistaken as a guy (though some kids ask if I'm a man or a woman b/c I never wear dresses). At such young ages we are conditioned to make assessments such as dress/long hair-=woman, pants/short hair= male.
Anyhoo, I guess I just started this thread b/c I feel women don't give themselves enough credit. As much as some of us tongue-wag at hot guys whizzing by, there are plenty of people enjoying YOUR scenery, and I just wanted to remind all of us how sexy our spirits are (especially when we're on bikes!):p

Welp, I'll never forget being the only woman in a group of five riding through Tolono, a pretty tiny town on the prairie, and going by the baseball field. I heard the old fashioned wolf whistle - which I honestly hadn't heard in *years* in any context, and thought "WTF?" ... and then three seconds later, we heard, "SPAAANDEX!!!" ... I'm pretty sure I was in my sweats.
That was definitely one of those "you can choose how you interpret that" moments...
... and the very next day I was with our women's ride, going by the same exact spot... and what do I hear? "Spaaandex!!!" - but no whistle.
So. I considered submitting a proposal for a Ph.D. thesis on the matter ;)

I year ya. Being sort of dirigible-shaped, I do get some curious looks myself. Don't hear many comments as I usually have my earbuds in. Maybe they're saying "hope it doesn't crash.....oh the humanity!" Oh well, at least I'm aerodynamic...:D

I hope so, don't you think though that alot of men may be a little intimidated by athletic women. When I was single, I must admit, I had a might fine physique, but I was at the guy 24/7 but all the guys would always for for my friend that had the long SKINNY legs and a fairly large barrel shaped upper body. I KNEW I looked good but they'd always go for her, of course she put out...I DIDN'T....haha
Anyway, I know I feel strong and good when I'm out riding it took sometime to get over being a little insecure at first being new to it and all, but now, I LOVE IT!!!:D

As for men being intimidated, that's just something they'll have to get over :p :p There are good guys out there who dig girls who are independent and confident. And yes, there are always the insecure guys who really prefer to feel in charge all the time, or feel like the brains behind the operation. To those guys, we can say, "Kiss my tailwind."

Again, referring to the cyclist at the top of this page, I think her lines are smokin' and I'm not "into" women, I would just give anything for her streamlined figure as you stated above!:D

Ah, but don't forget there are some here who would love the pics, and probably skipped the hot guys. ;)
That is true, unfortuntaely, you just don't see female athletes, mostly (cyclist) as advertised as their male counterparts. They are usually just found with their clothes off in playboy which we ALL know we are ALOT more then just some T&A..right ladies??!!!:p

Ha! For me they may be my age and not know about the grey under my helmet. I started going grey at 19, right now I am badly in need of a visit with the dye bottle. At 26 this isn't one or two vanity greys, I am definitely getting my dad's silver hair.
Amanda, gray is sexy, and you know what most guys aren't looking at your hair...if you know what I mean;) I started getting gray's after having my daughter and at 34 I'm FREAKING out but oh well, like you said, a dye bottle and off I go!!

One of the things I enjoy most on this forum is seeing pictures of fellow TEers doing what they love best, regardless of body type. :)
I admit, the women I most notice are those with defined muscles in their legs and arms. I knew this girl in college that did crew... whew.

One time I was riding, and this pack of hot male cyclists went crusing by... the lead guy said, "Nice Bike". I replied, "Thanks. Too bad the engine on it is so slow". He said, "OH, I wouldn't change a thing", in a sly tone. HA! :D
