dont delete it from your diet!

i more or less have done-

feeling progressively fainter and tireder, had a blood test and doc reckons its due to very low sodium levels.

awesome!found the cause and its treatable, but do watch out, take some of the recent salt hype "with a pinch of salt"

yup
really only bad to have incredibly high doses of sodium (even too much SPAM can be a bad thing); or if you have hypertension, it's something to be wary of

sunshine, go sprinkle some extra salt on those potato chips (french fries) and have a blast!

I worry about too much salt. My parents are liberal users of salt. I am on the other extreme. And I've wondering too, maybe not enough salt.

yup salt is important and so is potassium. Need to eat more veg. potato, broccolli, spinach, melon... may explain recent rash of cramps I've been experiencing.

looking for a local stable for the salt lick :D

So there I was in Las Vegas doing the obligatory tourist thing and toured the "Bodies" exhibit, which is pretty much plasticized human muscle and bone. I read something on the wall that said humans are born with EITHER a preference for sweet or salty.

I obviously was born with the sweet pref, and didn't ever add salt to my food until I started exercising/cycling a lot (more than the one-hour-at-a-time gym rat habit of my early 20s) and got blood results back that said my sodium was really low. So I got on a sea salt kick at home and it's supposed to have lots of good other minerals like potassium in it, depending on which kind you get. I get my blood results back in a couple weeks, so I'll let you know if it worked!

BTW, my mom has high blood pressure but mine's always been low/great, so I don't worry about that. I think it was 110 over 53 yesterday (back to doc because the congestion just won't go away...)

Bring on the salt! I'll just sweat it out tomorrow...
