Hey, those of you who work on your own bikes, what brand and "model" grease do you prefer?
Er.. does it matter? I'm also hoping for a small quantity since I'm not going to using it extensively, I don't think. For now, I just want to put some pedals on. Maybe in the future if I get brave enough, I can use if for other parts of the bike.

Thanks KNot.. perfect.
That's the grease the mechanics that I took my class from used. Didn't remember until I saw the green and the label. Now I just gotta figure out where to buy it.

I got mine at the LBS.
There's also the website, maybe they sell it online? www.philwood.com
This is really nice grease. Probably not as nice as DebW's beloved Campy grease, but nice grease none the less.
The tube (like a toothpaste tube) is handy and tidy.
My current most-beloved grease is Pedro's Syngrease. Comes in a 3 oz squeeze tube (or a 16-oz tub for us grease-aholics!). If all you are going to do with the grease is grease pedal threads, then Philwood is fine, but I think Philwood is too thin for bearings. I've had it wash out of hubs quickly in mild rain so I swore off it decades ago (but I still have 1/2 a tube that I use on pedal threads and to grease seatposts and cables).
But I still mourn the demise of Campy grease. :(

Oh yeah - that Pedro's is fun to use. I like the little knobby thing that expels the grease from the tube!!
We have also used that green stuff. It is nice, too and as I recall it smells nice.

My LBS has it, as does my local REI.

I was gonna say something about how I like the way it smells, but didn't know how to phrase it.
