Does Your Bike Sulk?

I swear my bike is sulking just now. Having relegated her to the shed over winter, partly because I didn't have an adaptor to pump up her tyres, got one last week, brought her out, gave her a good clean, greasing etc. You'd think she'd be happy wouldn't you?...Wrong!

First time out the other night I came off the kerb onto the road. My knee must have been turned inwards and whack! Knee meets frame. Knee comes off worst. Bruise No.1. Son cuts infront of me yesterday. I have to brake quick and jump off. Pedal whacks into back of heel. Ouch. Drew blood. Bruise No.2. Son (in lead - never again:mad: ) shoots round a tight corner without giving warning. I see corner. No way am I going to make it. Brake hard. Bike goes one way, I sort of go the other. Discover whacking great bruise on inner thigh later on. It's a cracker too. Bruise No.3.

Has anyone else had a good kicking from their bike after ignoring it all winter?

I feel really guilty now and keep apologising to Allie for leaving her on her own for so long:o Hope she forgives me...

Not really.

However I feel bad for it when I take my beater mountian bike out all winter to ride it in the snow, while my real bike sits and deflates its tires. I feel even worse when it gets put on the trainer, then it knows it has no hope of seeing outside for a few months. I have been know to tell it we can go out and play when the weather gets warmer, besides I don't want to see you get covered in all that mud. Road bike gets back at mountain bike now it goes outside all the time while the other has a rusted and seized chain I need to replace.

What a relief it is to always know where to find it, and to improve its look with some simple maintenance no matter how long it's been since I took it out.

Horse, on the other hand, can be quite a trick to catch when he thinks I've been neglecting him.
