When I was visiting family a couple of weeks ago my uber runner brother told me about the Pacific Coast Trail Runs (http://www.pctrailruns.com/)series. Wow! You folks living on the left edge are lucky!
Note that there is even one in Forest Park in Portland (http://www.pctrailruns.com/Forest_Park.htm), and they have a 10 k option. I expect some of you PNW gals to run in this one!
I have this crazy, hare brained idea that I may train for this 50K (http://www.pctrailruns.com/Big_Basin_Redwoods.htm). Or maybe the Carmel Valley one in October. I have time, I think (I'm at 25-30 mpw right now and have recently done a 20k and 25k and felt pretty good...). It'll give me something to focus on and might help combat that saddlebag jiggle that I just can't seem to get rid of :p . Plus, these are at sea level. Big bonus for those of us that live in the highlands.
Anyhoo, just thought I'd share for those of you living closer to the edge. :D
