Does your bike (or bikes) have a name? If so, what is it?

My Marin East Peak all mountain, full suspension is named Bob. Bob is sturdy and true, a bit heavy at 32.5 ponds, but man can he take a hit. He does not balk at mud, or snow, or rain, and can handle a gnarly downhill like nobody's business.
Last fall, along came Gidget. Gidget is my new Titus Racer X. She is little and fiesty, lite and fast and nimble. She does not like mud too much, but she climbs like a ibex.
There was a bit of jealousy on Bob part at first, but now they seem to be getting along. As a matter of fact, I think that they are making eyes at each other in the garage.
Maybe we will be expecting some tricycles in the fall.
I love' em both and the funny part is the guys that we mt bike with call them by name!

My new Cannondale is Miranda. She is a little spitfire much like my favorite Sex in the City character and also a Texas singer I love, both named Miranda.:D
My former bike was Fiona. She was a pain in the rear but her intentions were good, much like Fiona in Shrek. ;)

My bike is Dynah but I never call her that. I've never managed to really be able to call my inamimate (sp?) objects by names, as much as I've tried! One of my closest friends in high school had an old green station wagon that her family had always called The Green Demon, so I've always loved the idea of naming things, but alas, the names don't stick!

I've been waiting for my new (since feb) bike to tell me her name, but she hasn't done it. I suspect she is really a boy and I'm just not hearing his name...

I will be the first to admit I'm not very creative or original. My little blue Univega Grand Turismo that I purchased some twenty years ago is know simply as "my little blue bike." I love my little blue bike!
My purple Giro 20 has no name. I guess I just do not have enough time on her to give her a name. I do sometime refer to her as "my purple bike" but that is it. I simply want to be able to ride her but due to a lower back injury I've had to stay off this bike (a result of improper fitting - does anyone know of someone who can fit a recumbent?) My back is feeling much better so I'm hoping this weekend BF and I can work on getting her to fit my short legs. I really do want to ride her again and soon.

My bike's name is Nathan. When I take him in for any work at my LBS my mechanic friend always calls him by his name.
Since my new bike will be a WSD her name is Natalie. I had to go visit her when the frame came in last week. Maybe she'll be built up by the time the weather turns more pleasant around here.
I also used to be a MINI owner. I miss my "Nigel" quite a bit. He was more fun than any other car I ever owned.

My Giant OCR3's name is Blue. Not very creative since it is blue and black, but there's something about him that's calm but fun at the same time (yeah, my bike has characteristics).
My older white giant doesn't have a name yet. I'm stuck between Miranda or Kenny. I went to school with a girl named Kenny, she had electric blonde hair and was very expressive and opinionated. Older giant is white and has bright pink and aqua blue accents.

I probably posted on at least one of the other threads, I've slept (or tried to LOL) since then, but....
My Trek Navigator 50 is called The Little Navigator that Could. She's done more than any Navigator 50 should have in an entire lifetime already in just a year and half. 5700+ miles on a comfort bike, she's not stock Navigator anymore and is now a hybrid all of her own. Her first adjustment was an adjustable stem, then barends on her handlebars. She has had a rack added to the back (blew out her bottom bracket after 500 hard miles in a few months) and once she got her 1.5" Bontrager inverted treads instead of the 1.95 knobbies she came with, she was a lean, mean century machine :D
I fell in love with a Trek Pilot 1.2 WSD in Lava Red and she was to be named Pele (Lava Red) but we didn't get a chance to get to know each other sadly. The 2007 model (we've only met in photos) is Mineral Blue and she's been whispering her name is Lady Ice. Doubt we get well aquainted either (or at all until I'm back on a bike some time in the future) My favorite LBS (downtown location) closed a couple weeks ago so I don't get to have my periodic new bike smell fix now. :( Until I can make my way back to Carmel (22 mile ride one way) we won't be meeting soon.

My Bianchi is named Sprout--because she's little and green. I have to admit that I "stole" the name from someone else on the Forum that has a Bianchi named Professor Sprout. Can't remember who that is. Mimitabby, maybe? In private, however, I call her Baby.

I have named all my cars:
-Jezebel my 1986 Cutlass that was my first car. "Angry Johnny" by Poe was very popular and since I was the first with a license my car got around alot.;)
-Delilah my Neon. A friend and I watched "How Stella Got Her Groove Back" before heading on a bowling road trip. We thought it to be bad karma if the car wasn't named, so we stole the name of Whoopi's character.
-Venus my bright yellow New Beetle. I miss her, she was such a fabulous car.
-Layla my Saturn Vue. It was a POS. I called it Layla after the Eric Clapton song because my Layla always had me begging. She was in the shop 8 times in 15 months.
-Gretchen is my Dodge Caliber. Because it is name that is "Anything but cute". Not that I don't think it is a bad name, it just isn't cutesy.
I call our Dodge Ram Guenther because I can! :p Funny thing is my mom and husband refer to the cars by their names. My husband also called my Fuji by name.
I ended up buying the Cannondale R800 (and have started saving up for a tri bike), and when I was describing the bike to my friends, I said that it was silver, like the streak in my hair (which I am adamant is not gray). So I've been thinking of her as "the Silver Streak" ever since. What can I say? We compliment each other and so far seem to go well together.

A name, a name! Now that I'm ready to get rid of her, she suddenly has a name.
"The Beast" (as mentioned above) does fit her quite well because I've had to tame her more or less, to force her up hills, to force myself to ride her at times. She weighs almost 40 pounds!
Since we both have Dynamic brand bicycles, I arbitrarily named mine Dynah and my husband's Mick. It went no farther until tonight.
But as I was fighting my way uphill this evening "Dyna-Beast" popped into my head, then "Dyna-saur."
Even though "Dyna-saur" actually may be better, I think she will be "Dyna-Beast" in my head from now on.

PeeWee is my '06 S&S-coupled steel IndyFab Crown Jewel - for my Great Adventures, get it? And Barbie, a.k.a. Barbie's Playbike, is my winter bike, a 1990 SLX steel Eddy Merckx Corsa Extra pictured below. She was repainted last year (and named for) her original Team Weinmann colors. I have a Trek 7300 hybrid, bright red. Even though I wanted to give it a female gender, the name Marcel has stuck. I have an obsession with Marcel Proust, and so this Marcel can take me on adventures on the bike trail and around town.

Hey you guys, I love this idea! I have a blue Rivendell Rambouillet (Rambouillet being a village in France reknowned for their sheep breed), and I've had a terrible time trying to name it. I've always sensed it was a boy bike. In 2005 DH and I visited Quebec and loved learning some French. Geez.
I never even *thought* of naming my bikes until I read about it on this site.
I graffiti'ed up the chainstay of my Seven with a Sharpie drawing of a bunny (need to get the LBS owner to pen the VW Rabbit on the top tube - he's a much better artist than I) and planned to have a headset cover made up that said "Quick Like a Bunny" -- ha! that's called irony, folks -- but PurelyCustom doesn't make 1" headset covers anymore, so I was SOL. So I guess "Bunny" is it by default.
The commuter doesn't have a name. The mountainbike: well, I guess I could name it "The flat-tired dust collector"!

My bikes don't have official names (yet)
The old one, the '05 Trek 1000, used to be called Silver. Because I'm a silversmith and silver is my thing. And the bike was about half silver in color. But then we had a wreck. For a while he (my bikes are male) was called the wrecked bike. I was going to just use it for a "beater bike" like maybe to the grocery store. But we got him fixed and now it's my travel bike and foul weather bike. And every time I get on him, ( :o ) I think he feels like putting on old blue jeans... so now he is sometimes referred to as "Old Blue Jeans".....but usually he is just called "the 1000"
The new one, the 07 trek Madone 5.0 with a matte carbon finish with silver decals, was to be called Silver, but is sometimes referred to as "My New Blue Jeans", but mostly called "the Madone." I keep thinking his name is "Mad One" but it still doesn't fit.

I'd mentioned I was waiting for my new bike to tell me her name and now the old hybrid bike has told me that she's not happy being called ol' Klunky, but would prefer instead to be addressed as Victoria. I have a yellow Specialized stumpjumper M4 from back in the day. Her name is Sally.
I have a green Specialized Allez Pro that I got the next year. She was much more fussy about tuning and potholes and things. She reminded me of a southern belle. Very pretty and flashy but not meant for being exposed to rigorous conditions. Her name was Georgia. But now that I've riden some smaller WSD bikes, carbon fibre frames and the like, I've started referring to her as the Jolly Green Giant. I don't think she likes it very much. I still love her.

And my new love, Ruby (Specialized Ruby Comp '06). She came with her name. My husband contributes to my biking madness by letting Ruby stay in our living room. I can't help it. I like to look at her when I'm I not riding. My husband even asked if Ruby enjoyed the ride when I get back. I think this all started when I was a kid and I thought of my bike as being a pet horse. A cannondale road bike, which either goes by the Old Grey Mare (even thought it's actually Sliver w/ red accents) I got it on 9/11/2002, and it has about 17,000 miles on it, so it's old, but it get where I want to go.

A Bike friday - which is just Friday, although some think I should call the Folding tank - it's quite heavy , and built with some very low gears.

KayTee: BEAUTIFUL bike! my so has a Merckxx, I love how they look. The colors on yours--georgeous! how long have you had her?
Barbie was an eBay bargain about 6 years ago. She had cruddy parts and wrecked up paint, so we upgraded components gradually and then decided that she really needed a repaint so she could look as lovely as she rides. I ride her every winter and on some social rides - she's heavier than my other bikes, so I get a better workout riding her. Hope your son enjoys his Merckx as much as I do this one!
The Giant in my avatar is named Boo-Sikki- because my brother (nicknamed Boo) gave it to me, the Trek 5200, on semi-permanent loan is Old Blue. Brother's Madone is called the Sacred Madone.
I have toyed with the idea the idea of naming my bike Myvagina for the intrinsic comedy value.
But i think i'll just go with Serenity.

My new Kona Smoke is named "Mitzi G.O.V." cuz she's so butch, and that is a silly femme mutation of "Missy Giove."
And if you don't know who Missy Giove is, well, then I guess I'm old enough to be yer mother....

Oh yes - they all have names!!:
Mouse Bike - this is my silver Cannondale. It's about 43cm & when my husband showed a picture of him once I had built him to a friend, the friend commented "that's not a real bike - that's a mouse bike"
Ant bike - my blue Principia commuter. He came right after Mouse Bike & was bought from my friend Antonia - not sure how flattered she is now!
Mr T - our trek tandem
Peggy - my new pink Bike Friday - called Pegasus because it flies (in both senses of the word) - Peggy - who is really a boy, even has his name on a plate on the bike
Micky - my Terry Dolan track bike. Micky as in Micky Dolan - also this bike is a close friend of Mouse Bike . . .
My husband's bikes also have names:
Mars - his Planet X track bike - because it's red & it's the god of war
Big Blue - guess why?
Wagner - this is his mtb - I bought it for him an an engagement present - so it is the ring cycle . . .
Sushi - his Fuji track bike - one of the few girls in our stable
OK - I think that's all. We are currently having our house remodelled - so we can't even find all the bikes & can hardly even remember our own names!!

Let's see...the '04 blue Specialized Dulce Elite is Khamsin, ('desert wind' in Arabic, I think.)
The '05 red Raleigh M40 mtb is Java, she's my bomb proof commutermobile and better than a cup o' joe in the mornings.
My new ride, an '06 green Giant TCR cw just recently received her name: Greta.

I finally named my silver Giant Casper. It seems to fit and easy to remember fun name-although not real creative  Jenn
