I'm in a canundrum...
Last week I received a letter from the business office of my local gym club... they're raising my corporate rates from $45/mo to $55/mo, which with the "mandatory" $10 at the snack bar charge comes to $65/mo starting in May.
I've never been happy about that $10 at the snack bar charge...

The gym has all the bells and whistles. So it's a good place to work out. BUT my office has recently improved the work out space with new machines and a variety of stationary aerobic things (treadmills, bikes, stairmasters) - FREE to employees.

I hate working out for the sake of working out. So I've enjoyed the motivation of the spin class, even if I don't make it as often as I should.

Now that it's spring and the weather has improved  , we've started back riding the levee after work a couple of times a week. I like riding outside better than riding inside.

So I need to decide if I want to pay the additional $10 - now the $65/mo rate. Any thoughts?

Are there 3 or 6 month options? Then you could drop the membership in the spring/summer and use it in the fall/winter. At $65/month, you could get yourself a decent set of weights for your house and some Spinerval DVDs. (Yeah, but who likes riding the trainer by themselves.)

I'd ditch the club. ($10 mandatory snack bar charge???!!!!!??? WTF???)

You can buy some nice gear with $65/mo.

I would ditch the membership.
