So, last night I was cruising the Web and came across this blog with pix of hundreds of cycling-related tattoos, from Curious George riding backward to Buddha on a bike and everything in between.

You can read about my recent, first bike tattoo on my personal 'blog...

Excerpt:
"According to Karol Griffin – the author of Skin Deep: Tattoos, the Disappearing West, Very Bad Men, and My Deep Love for Them All – we white people are lost from any sense of cultural heritage. Aside from the kilt-wearing MacDougals and the powwow-attending people trying to join a Native American tribe, most of us Anglo-Americans are just a scraggly Heinz 57 mutt mix: A summa person. Summa this, summa that."

but here's a pic! Are there other cool cycling tats on the board?

Oooh, I like it! Did you get the chainring from the chainring tat site? I've been eyeing those....

I might have to look up Danny at Mom's Body Shop next time I'm in SF.

That's the guy who is a friend of Danny's who's been collecting the chainrings, yeah. In fact, Danny did that guy's first rings ... and Danny had a printout of them. Small world!

The Amici Veloci gazelle chainring is on that site. It's one of the rings I'm considering. (I'm thinking an armband of bike chain, with 3 rings in it. We'll see... This would be to celebrate 15 years cancer-free, which gives me a couple years to decide yet.)

I'm definitely going to consider having Danny do it, since I spend so much time in SF anyway and he's the chainring guy!

I really like your tat!

I went to Mom's Body Shop website, and they don't list Danny as one of their folk.

Uh-oh? Where did he go?

I hate losing track of your tattoo artists!

I'd call Mom's and see, or e-mail that chainring dude, since they're apparently tight.

Good luck, and let me know what you find out!

He spells it Dan E. Boy...

"Real ones" as if other markings aren't? I'm sick of this arrogant site, I thought this was a place for female cyclists to bond, but it is nothing more then a bashing frenzy.......c ya

What did I say?
Did I bash someone or something?

Edit: Doc made some great temporary tattoos of bike chains, and I love them. I'd like a permanent one someday. It's just fun, that's all.

Jen, the only other posts I saw when I searched "tattoo" were for temporary tattoos, which are really cool, but I meant "real" as in "permanent," no offense meant to anybody or their art.
