Yet another shorts question: Anyone like bibs?

Hello,

Just curious if anyone has ever worn any bib shorts specifically designed for women? Any brand work better than others? I was wondering if they have any benefits. I am thinking they might keep the chamois closer to your body, which might be a good thing or it might not be. I am thinking the only drawback is having to undress when you need to use the restroom (so probably not a good apparel choice on race day LOL).

I like bibs, but the only one's I've tried have been "mens". As you point out it makes peeing a big chore. Actually I think they're fine for racing (just leave the staps down until you go to the line); once you're off you don't have time to pee. I find them most annoying on long touring-type rides where I might need to stop along the road. OTHER than the potty-issue they are sooooo comfy--no elastic around the waistband.

Maybe I'm naive here, but as long as you're going to have to pull down your pants, anyway, who cares if the shoulderstraps have to go, too?

Mind, I've never tried to pee during a biking trek ... I'm sure I'd have performance anxiety!

Bibs usually have sort of a high back, so in order to pull the pants down you have to remove your jersey. Since my jersey pockets are usually full (tube, food, key, ziploc-baggies etc etc) this is a real pain in the butt!

If you ride long enough and far enough you eventually get over the fear-of-peeing -in-public thing. Mother nature takes over.
Then there are the times where I have to choose between nasty smelly port-o-let and a tree? Guess which I'll chose
every time???

Thanks to nasty port-o-smellies, I now carry handwipes in my camelbak, just in case.
