I picked up my Ruby Pro at noon on Friday. When I first saw her I couldn’t believe how beautiful she was. The paint job on this bike is just amazing! No picture will do it justice. I loaded her up and took her home. The weather was threatening so I didn’t take her out. But by 3 pm I just couldn’t stand it any more so I decided to go for a short ride. It ended up being a lot shorter than I thought. I got about 3 tenths of a mile from home when it started sprinkling. So I turned around and went back home. The maiden voyage would have to wait. Saturday morning we had beautiful weather. I put 20 miles in on Saturday and 30 on Sunday. The ride is so much more comfortable. This bike really smoothes out the bumps. Chip and seal isn’t quite as awful as before. The shifting is great. There is a learning curve going from the triple to the double; but I’m getting the hang of it. I think this bike and I will have many miles and memories. Just looking at her makes me want to go for a ride. This is one decision I don’t regret.

Here's a picture of her:

li10up....I have been waiting to see your post. You are so good to have taken a pic already. I agree with you about the paint job. I think it is absolutely breathtaking.

I am happy to hear you are enjoying the ride. I am with you on not being able to wait for my next ride on my Ruby. I listen to the forecast every morning while getting ready for work to see if I can catch an afterwork ride.

Needless to say I am wishing you many enjoyable and safe rides with her.

OH MY GOSH! What a beautiful bike!! It's amazing how that carbon can smooth out a ride. :D And I hear you about going from a triple to the double. I was just getting the hang of shifting the double last fall when I had to tuck my Ruby Expert inside and switch to my mtb, with a triple, for winter riding. Now I'm back outside with the double and learning all over again.

Wishing you many wonderful, smooth, fast miles together. bikerHen

She's so gorgeous! :) Specialized really hit it out of the park with that color scheme!!!

I have a Ruby Pro from last year - same beautiful paint job, slightly different componentry. Its a tourist attraction.... One of the officials at the races I've been going to has to show the pretty 44cm bike to everyone...

I had read some complaints about the Jett saddle; several people had to switch them out. So far I'm liking mine. It seems to grip the slick fabric of my bike shorts and prevents me from sliding forward. Of course it feels slightly different than my previous saddle but I'm sure once it's broken me in I'll be just as comfortable on it. So, anyone out there wanting to get rid of their Jett - send it my way.

Only problem so far was a bit of brake pad rubbing. Let me tell you...a brake rubbing can really drag you down. Think I've got it solved now.

Want to ride after work but it looks like rain. Forcast says 70% chance. I probably shouldn't have brought her to work. If it's raining at 5pm I think I'll just leave her at the office and hope she's still here in the morning. I want to ride!

Saddles do seem to be a love/hate kind of thing. I like the Jett that came on my Ruby so much I bought one for my rain bike too. (don't feel like having to break my backside in at the end of each season)

The Jett slightly bothered my right sit bone the first couple of rides, but didn't bother it at all on Thursdays ride. So I think so far so good. I have never changed the original seat on any bike I have had.

Thinking mind over matter, I am trying to keep all the complaints I heard about it out of my head.

Rain is predicted here also for early or later evening. I am hoping later so I can get some kind of ride in when I get home. Tomorrow should be a nice 70 degree day, here is keeping my fingers crossed. :)

Gorgeous bike! I understand about the rain. I'm wanting to ride but we've got rain on the way and I don't think I can get far, sigh.

Fantastic, beautiful bike!

I just went for my first ride on a new/used Jett yesterday...a 3 hour ride. Loved it. It is a lot like the Specialized Body Geometry mountain bike saddle I had been using, but a little firmer, and even better soft tissue relief.

Hey looks nice - what gears does it have? (Ultegra/dura ace?) Guess that bartape won't stay white for long! I have yellow and it's really grotty now. Ride safe.

Thanks everyone. It is truly one beautiful bike. It was raining again this morning but looks like it is clearing off. Maybe I'll get a ride in tonight. This bike deserves a good rider so I am determined to put in the miles this year. Last year I was just shy of 2500 and so far this year I'm about 200 miles ahead of where I was last year.

Midlife - I'm sure the bartape will be grey soon. The rear cassette is a DuraAce 12-27t. On the front is an FSA K-Force MegaExo carbon crankset. The FD is Ultegra and the RD is DuraAce.

Still no name for her. Seems a bike this nice deserves a name...but I've never named a bike before.....dunno.

Keep those wheels rollin' everyone!

Don't worry li10up....I have never named any of my bikes either. I just call this one Ruby, my Dolce was Dolce and so forth. I have enough trouble naming pets, lol

Finally....70 degree temps, I am off for a ride after work as I should be tomorrow as the weather should be good also. If find these after work rides a gift since dst normally would not have been here so early in the season :)

Enjoy!!!!
