We're at the beach and Silver and I rode 52 Miles this morning!!!! A new record for me!

It was a generally flat course, but windy!

Strange twist...at 26 miles, we found a lost gentleman with alzheimers. It was the absolute middle of nowhere. That took a while until we finally had to call the police to come help.

Congratulations on the 52 mile ride and for rescuing a lost gentleman who knows how long he would have been out there if you and Silver had not come upon him. Well done all around. :)

mr. silver held up very well!!!! He kept us on a brisk pace. I had stopped him because he had left his bag unzipped and just as we got started again, the man asked us for help.

Again, more reason to always keep ID and phone numbers to call. He had his driver's license and knew that he needed to look at it to get home. Only problem was that his home was 40 miles away. He had a Project Lifesaver wristband on, but we called the number and there was no answer.

We called the police station later and they said that got him home.

we saw some other cyclists and one of them said to Mr..... "nice bike" :)

:)

PS: I've got my old bike here (the wrecked trek 1000) because I couldn't bear the thought of the Madone riding on the back of the car for 600 miles.

That was so nice of you two to help him. Last week in Ga, a woman left her 60 yr old husband who had dementia/alzheimers etc. in a restaurant and never said goodbye. He was there 4 hrs later and restuarant staff tried to help him. Local fire dept put him up for the night and he was returned home to Seveirville, Tn the following day by law enforcement. If the wife didn't want to take care of him, she should have divorced years ago. How selfish of her, one day she'll be old too. Sorry bout that, but that is heartless to abondan you kin like that. Grrr! Jennifer
