How is everyone doing?
I am back to 139lbs, maybe it will stay below now and keep creeping down I hope:)
Had a pretty good exercise week I think
monday rowed 10,000m
tuesday ran 8km
wednes rowed 10,000km
thursday speedwork, 3x 1 mile repeats
Saturday 1 hr run

Is today Kelownagirl's wedding? I hope everyone is finding ways to meet their goals- this week I just tried to watch what I was eating, fewer empty calories and drinking more water/herbal tea- my latest favorite is rooboos red:)

I'm up 1lb, but I'm OK with it. It was a week of SOME undisciplined eating, and limited opportunity for exercise. With a week like that, if I only gain a pound, I'm doing something else right....

Here's what's tripping me up.

I want to ride my bike instead of walk on the treadmill. Riding my bike is weather dependent. It's chilly in the mornings right now, but lovely in the afternoons. If I don't do my exercise in the mornings, then by the end of the day I've got busy doing other things and forget to ride.

I only rode twice this week, but they were good hard rides. I forgot to lift weights, on Friday.

The time change is messing with me, too...it's still dark at SEVEN am. :P

This week I'm traveling, and taking my bike with me. But it's supposed to rain...I'm sure I'll find a way to ride at least once, but the treadmill in the hotel will be available all the time. So that's the plan. Every morning, either a walk or a ride. Of course, I'll be eating out a lot, so that will be a challenge.

Wish me luck!

Wahoo - dropped 3 pounds and I'm back down to 150. I drank WAY too much this weekend (company party and out the night before) which I rarely do so those empty calories won't be logged this week. Total loss this year is 5 pounds and 7.5 inches.

I did my first brick this weekend doing a mock duathlon (5K run, 20 mile bike, 1 mile run), and even though I don't have the shin splints under control, I know I can complete the duathlon. Now I have 7 weeks to shave 10 minutes off my total time:p

And you heard it here folks. Come hell or high water, I WILL go below the 150 barrier this week if it kills me:D (man, I really hope it doesn't kill me...)

The wedding is today! (So what am I doing online?  :D )

I weighed in at 121.5 this morning but I've been around 120.5 for the past 3-4 days so that's what I'm going with. :) Who knows what I'll be this time next week after a few days of undisciplined eating. :)

Have a good week everyone - I know I will!

Well it has been 5 weeks since I decided to begin this journey (thanks to everyone for the inspiration!). I increased my food, decreased my exercise to 7 hours per week (a medical compromise my neuro and I came to) and I have energy and the results are good. :)

For this week: I lost another pound (I am close to goal so from here on I do not expect to see any losses higher than a pound). I shed 2 1/4 inches this week which thills me. :)

In the past 5 weeks (In case someone is keeping an overall count): I have shed 14 unwanted pounds, 10 3/4", and over 3% body fat (yay me!)

Oh, my all time favourite number-since I changed my lifestyle 2 years ago, my resting heart rate went from 99 :o  :o to (drum roll....) 50!!! :D

Keep up the good work everyone. :D

KG-have a wonderful time, enjoy yourself! :D

I have pretty much stayed stable this week, but had several dinners out, which always screws me up some. The good news is that I went shopping today and though I didn't buy anything, I tried on several size 12 pants and shorts, and THEY FIT and a couple were even baggy!!!! WhooooHoooo! It has motivated me to keep on going, and though I walked four miles with my friend this morning, I still went to the gym tonight---I feel like I am on a roll!!

Sounds like everyone is doing pretty good! Yay!

I haven't braved the scale today. But I was almost able to get into my Calvin Klein jeans this morning--that was good. Actually, I could get them on, but I couldn't bend over :)

I've been eating a lot better after a few days of celebrating birthdays and the start of the riding season. I made a huge orzo and spinach salad that I've been munching all week--it's helped keep my snacking and bingind down a lot.

I had my body composition done at a health expo earlier this week. They told me how hydrated I was, how much of my weight is fat  and how much was bones and organs. It was neat. My BMI is 28. I'm goint to work so hard to get it down to 24. 15 lbs is all I need--I can do it! Dh had his composition done too, his % body fat was 8.9!!!!! Sheesh! He's all muscle. And really sexy. I love him :p

Congratulations all you losers. As for a few minor gains - they're minor gains and in the big scheme of thing mean nothing as long as it's a downward trend.:)

Last week I had my period. So I did not officially weigh in and report. I have been bloating up to 3 or 4 pounds on that week. So I was actually really happy that I only got up to 142.4. I was sure that I'd get below 140 this week.

141 and holding. I may have reached my set point. So in about 2 to 3 months I've lost 6 lbs. My goal was to get down to 135 for racing season. Theoretically I have 6 more pounds to go. Realistically, My "cottage cheese" look on the backs of the thighs and triceps has been seriously minimized and it may not be wise for me to lose much more weight. I think I'll book a hydrostatic weighing to try to get my true body fat %. Then I'll know what's up.

Great job, everyone! I won't officially weigh in this week since I have lost 5 lbs. for the wrong reasons (kidney stone that caused serious vomitting and no eating for many, many days).

Previous to that I implemented BMo3 recommendation for adding some more calories and that was helping.

Keep up the good work!;)

Ouch! Kidney stone! I've never had one, but I've been around someone who was suffering. It must be terrible.

Hope no more come your way.

Karen, down another pound this week!

Sorry about that snowtulip :( OUCH!

Some doctor told me once that female patients regularly told him that between delivering a baby and kidney stones, they'd deliver a baby any time.

I hope you feel better now...

Hi ladies - glad to hear everyone is still losing, maintaining, or at least not gaining much. BMO - wow you've done well is 5 weeks! I'd be at my goal in 2 weeks if I could lose that fast.

I am afraid to weigh in tomorrow morning after a week of eating in restaurants and drinking wine, and snacking, and no exercise other than a 5 km hike in the rainforest. I am sure I've gained, hopefully only 2 lbs at the most. Crossing my fingers.... Tomorrow I start reining it in, and Monday I'm back on the wagon again until these last pounds are gone. The good news is that the weather has turned and I can start riding more often now.

And I bought a new long sleeved jersey and a nice wind breaker jacket at MECC today!

Thanks everyone, it was the worst pain I've ever felt and some of the nurses that had babies and kidneys stones did agree that they'd have a baby over stones.

The up side is that I am completely addicted to soda and I know it will greatly help weight loss if I can stop drinking, but just couldn't do it. But the doctor believes the soda is one of the main reasons for my kidney stones. So I have been soda free for six days (admittedly I had no food for four of those days, but hey it should count).

KW, rainforest walk sounds wonderful! ENJOY!!

BMO - wow you've done well is 5 weeks! I'd be at my goal in 2 weeks if I could lose that fast.

I wish, but thank you for the kind words In all actuality took 6 months of being stuck in a plateau before the scale or meassurements budged. So it was not actually a fast loss, which is good. Slow is a good way to lose, I would have preferred a slighly faster method than a 6 month plateau. :p All told, it took 7 months, just nothing happened for the first 6 months. *sigh*

I am 5 pounds away from my goal. Those will take even longer since the last few are usually the most difficult to get off (or so I have heard). I imagine it will be some time before I get the last 5 pounds off and even longer to gain the lean muscle mass I want. But it is worth it. I am in this for life, so no rush on my part. :)

You were on your honeymoon, cut yourself some slack. You deserve it. :) Glad to see you back with us. :D
