I found my plain Brooks leather saddle was just too soft and cushy for me anymore.
I'm going with THIS baby now!:

I ordered the women-specific "S" model to fit my wider sitbone spacing.
Chamois? Yeah right,.....FOR SISSIES!!!!

Lisa,
I REALLY want to know how that works out for ya. Swapping something out for the extra weight? The Bars, Pedals??

Indeed, yes. To make up for the extra weight I got rid of my brakes, brake cables, etc. Brakes are for SISSIES.

Good point. Might I also suggest that you ditch the shoes. No telling how much they weigh. If you ride clipless you could just stick your big toe in there.

Toes? I got rid of them long ago- too heavy. Good idea about the shoes though...

Have you considered just riding nekkid? & shave your head.

LIsa, you could just ride on rims too, the rubber tires and tubes add a lot of weight.

What if she put helium in tubes? & helium balloons on the back of the seat??

It's too cold here!
I cut my own hair, and it's usually only about an inch long. However, I'm considering having my old fillings replaced with titanium- could lose at least another ounce there probably (i have a lot of fillings)... I looked into carbon fillings but I don't think they would hold up when I pull off my tires to change flats. Only SISSIES use tire levers.

Well the black carbon MIGHT be unattractive in your teeth. Though it might make an excellent skeletal structure.

Oh, but I play the banjo, so actually it might fit right in! Gee, THANKS!! :p

Ya know, we are carbon-based life forms.
(Having spent the day riding the HILLS of Tennessee where banjo players aren't that uncommon).

Thanks Mimi, I tried these on my bike a while back (tubes are for SISSIES), but again, I had the added weight issue to address, so I went back to my old tires.

If you're burly enough to ride that then I wouldn't think weight would be an issue. Maybe you should get wheels that match. As for breaks, just do it the Flintstones way.:p

Probably just a 60's flashback. Not to worry.

I'm just getting a one way street sign. Must be a psychological thing.

Are you guys serious about seeing different images? Bizarre!
Here is the actual "link" for the tank picture:

yes, we were being honest, and I haven't had a flashback from the 60's in a long time. Never had the nerve to drop acid, you know.

Can't access the tank at all. at the home page, hitting refresh, I get the grass and the one way sign. I think it's a test.
Means something deep.

and don'cha just *know* you're in trouble when you never dropped acid in the 60s and yet there you are havin' flashbacks and experiencing chronic weight-weenieism? (aside from, y'know, the stone seat)
Well...
sandstone and limestone eventually 'give' to water running over their surface...
our bodies are , what, 80% water?
Eventually the limestone seats will 'give' and 'mold' themselves to our particular posteriors.
(sounds a lot like Brooks logic to me... hmmmm...)

Actually, I suspect my sitbones are slowly molding themselves to my Brooks saddle, not the other way around. (Holy osteoporosis, Batman!)
