I am doing the Stairclimb - the "big climb for Leukemia" next saturday.
It's 69 flights of stairs.

I've never done anything like this before, but I thought it would help motivate me for doing my stairs exercise.

Yea Mimi!! I know you can do it. 69 flights, 1,311 steps, 19 steps per flight and 788 feet vertically... You are my hero. My friend Bobbi died from leukemia many years ago. Thank you for doing this climb. Please take some pics of the participants and post them. Next year, maybe I can help somehow?

I want to say it will be a pleasure, but ha, I'll reserve that comment until after the fact..
Go, Mimi, Go! Keep yourself hydrated, and have a super time!
There's a fundraiser in Vancouver that is similar, and the firefighters do the stairclimb in all their fire gear. It's so amazing to see that commitment from so many people from so many walks of life!
Go, Mimi, go!!
Hugs and butterflies,
~T~

LBTC
last week the firefighters did it here too. But they do the climb in all their gear and get to the top FASTER!
Faster, I Know!! That is so amazing!
Too bad you won't be chasing firefighter butt up the stairs....that could be a good motivator! :p

A hearty happy THANK YOU from me as well! You GO girl!! I am proud of you!! :D
I was diagnosed with Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML)in October of 2006
And I too am raising money for LLS as well and training for a century ride in June....my first! I have not done anything like this before either!
Thanks to others doing fundraising like this to help with research, I can say that I am in significant second stage remission already. Hence my need to give back and help others have a healthy future.
I personally thank you for your dedication and efforts. You rock!!

You are very thoughtful and a sweetie! ((hugs)) to you!
I am glad that your niece's transplant has gone well and she is having good results. Excellent!!
Please let me know how it goes, ok? You only have to go up right? Hopefully you can take the elevator down with a nice big piece of cake as a reward! LOL Ok, maybe that's just where my mind goes. ;) Mmmm, cake!
Good luck this weekend!

Go MIMI GO!!
When I was in junior high a girl a grade above me was stricken with luekemia. It was the first time that I really had to deal with ones mortality. I mean she was MY age practically. It was very hard for all of us. But I still remember her. It was a sad loss. So thank you. In memory of Angie jackovack. :(

good grief, maybe i do have the racing gene!
A coworker (who is chubby and has asthma) tried to talk me out of being in the race (there's a walk up the stairs side and a race up the stairs side) but at the last minute, i thought, why not.

Tom was coming back from a really bad virus, and up to mid week, I wasn't sure he was going to be able to compete, but once he got past the start line, his testosterone took over.
