One could simply not ask for a nicer day. I was able to ride without a jacket, a long sleeved jersey, ear muffs, wool tights, wind tights, shoe covers, gloves, etc. I simply sported a pair of shorts, jersey and the rest of the regular gear. It was a sunny, windy, warm day here in the Bluegrass and I was glad I had taken the day off from work (hate those doctor appointments). I got in a little over 35 miles. Half of the ride had the wind at my back and the other half found me fighting the wind but all was well for it was such a beautiful day.

It was, however, a very bad day for poor little snake that evidently was also enjoying the sunshine for a red tail hawk decided he, the snake, would make a great meal. The hawk and snake zoomed across the road ahead of me as I was enjoying the day. It was a neat sight and I felt a twinge of sadness for the snake - what a way to start the warm season - it was not a long year for this poor guy but the hawk I'm sure was quite happy - "Honey, I'm home and we are dining on snake steaks this evening!"

I also came upon a house who's front yard was decorated with very large and live cows! There was a feed yard across the way but the gate was closed and locked. I'm not sure where the these four gals came from but they seemed to be enjoying the green grass.

MAK, I had a great ride today, too. It was an exceedingly stressful week. But, today we had sunshine in the PNW, and I got out!

I still did wear my AmFib tights, a couple jerseys, jacket, calientoes, etc, but short-fingered gloves!

It was beautiful out, the mountains were out, all the dogs were fenced, and bald eagles were flying. And, I did some good work. Not long, but good enough, 20 miles and 1200 feet. What a gift. I am grateful.
