Hello to the the west coast gals....

Can anyone recommend a book on touring the Pacific coast? I plan on buying ACA's maps and Cyclist's Yellow Pages, but a nice book would be a good addition. If anyone has a suggestion, please, let me know :) You can PM me or just reply to the post.

I haven't used it, but this book is the one I've heard a lot of people have used: Bicycling The Pacific Coast: A Complete Route Guide, Canada To Mexico, by Vicky Spring and Tom Kirkendall.

The ACA maps are definitely needed (as you said). I would also recommend getting a paper copy of the Oregon Coast bike route. Here's a link to the pdf: http://www.oregon.gov/ODOT/HWY/BIKEPED/docs/ORE_COAST_BICYCLE_MAP_WEB_FINAL.pdf.

Just went on to more research to find that most people think the ACA maps and the Oregeon map seemed to be better, and that the book itself seemed to be added weight. But maybe I will find it at my local library and give it a quick read.:)
