Jeannie's SO sent this update to IFJane. Since Jane's offline until Monday, I'm posting it as he requested (Thanks so much for this, John).

KayTee
I sent this to Jane but wanted to copy you so that someone can forward appropriately.

Jane

I (John \ Jeannie's SO) logged on as Jeannie to give you ladies a quick update. Jane if you could spread the word I would appreciate it. I will say first however that I am profoundly moved by the responses that I viewed. This is the kind of support that Jeannie will need.

Let me run through a few particulars. Jeannie was a passenger in a friends SUV when it was struck on the passenger side. She was heading to a Silpada / Pampered Chef party and just happened to be sitting in the wrong place. The vehicle that hit them was believed to be traveling 50-55 mph. The accident was the result of a missing stop sign. The other ladies were shaken up but not injured.
Jeannie suffered 4 broken ribs, a bruised spleen, partially collapsed lung, a torn ureter and most seriously, multiple non operable pelvic fractures. She is also very badly bruised. She has been in the ICU for most of the week but was moved into a room yesterday.
After a few surgeries, she has shown progress. The Doctor told her that it is likely that she will not walk for 3 months. The Doctor said she should make a complete recovery. He added "very slowly".

I so appreciate your concerns and hope you will take a moment to send her your thoughts. For anyone that wants to contact her the address is as follows:

VCU Health System
1250 E.Marshall St.
Richmond, VA 23298
attn: TRETULIP F0399 / Jeannie Tripp

Ladies thanks again for your support.

Even more soothing, healing, cheerful butteflies headed Jeannie's way.

John, when she has access to and is interested in receiving emails, please send me her email address so that I may send her a photo every day. Feel free to email me, if you'd like, at picsie.chick@gmail.com

A number of people on my list mention how much the picture lifts their spirits, and I believe that that kind of positive thought process helps in healing a lot.

Hugs and butterflies,
~T~

Ouch!!! Poor Jeannie, I simply can't imagine. When I fractured my pelvis in a cycling accident, two of my fractures were in the "sit bones" area and were non-operable also. The largest and most paninful fracture was in the ilium, and the pain relief after surgery was immense (though it still hurt, of course!) I know she must be suffering...I'll definitely send a card.
