Alright you google-ites, I need your help. Originally I had planned on getting the new Orbea Diva in pink with this year's tax return. Recently I've had some issues with my car and am saving for a new one so..... I've set my sights a little lower and settled on an 05 Onix in black and silver. The BF can get a good deal on the frame as he's a dealer and it's on closeout in my size.

We've decided to go either with veolcity's eggplant purple rims

http://www.velocityusa.com/img/colors/eggplantpurple.jpg

or use the silver velocity rims he bought last week at a tradeshow for cheap and use purple spokes and spoke nipples.

I'd also like to trick it out in anything else purple I can find. We've found purple chainring bolts and some bar tape (but haven't found the PERFECT color yet). I'm still looking for cages. The only ones I can find are anodized. I'd prefer plastic. He might have some purple brake cable lying around somewhere too.

I saw some Chris King hubs somewhere that were purple but can't find them now.
Also looking for a purple saddle.
Anything else you can think of?

Thanks all!

Jeni

I love aubergine (eggplant), what a great colour!

I haven't found any of the parts you want, but I wish you well and hope we'll get to see pictures when you put her together!

Hugs and butterflies,

Someone makes purple cable endcaps -- the little nip you crimp on the ends of cables to keep them from fraying. I bought them from a company that let me pick my colors:

Purple, did you say purple.
I have a purple seat bag from Jandd.
Purple bar end caps and tube caps. (Purely Custom)
Purple and pink bar tape from Soma.
Purple stripe Michelin tires.
Purple and white helmet (Giro)
Oh and a Purple Orbea Dama Race. (Search "The new Orbea" thread here.
A word of caution, you'd be amazed at how many shades of purple there
are and they can look different on the computer than in person, but I've had great luck finding purple accessories. :D Have fun.

Thanks for all your suggestions!

I think the hardest part is going tobe making sure all the different purples match.

BF called Orbea to make sure the geometry would fit, and it does. But he also said, "I don't want to build this bike for you to coming running to me next year and say that I NOW want the Diva!"

So what if I do? What's wrong with that? :D :D :D

Besides, I'm only buying the frame and I can sell the frame next year and swap all my components over.

Jeni

I will provide pictures upon completed build!
