Hello...

For those of you who use Outlook for an appointment calendar... and for those of you who will have the time change on March 11th (YIPPEE!!! It's early this year... I'm so happy)... I just thought I would warn you about a problem I just found.

All of my appointments between March 11th and April 1st readjusted the time… so my appointment at 2:45 on the 13th shows as 3:45, my class on the 14th should be 6-8:30 but shows as 7-9:30… etcetera. :eek: I’m guessing that the program wasn’t quite sure what to do with the early time change. Anyway, you might want to take a look and make sure yours looks right. And - be careful about appointment times during that period in case the computer does something else funky!

My DH uses the calendar at work, too, and his is doing the same thing. So - it's not just me!

Three cheers for Spring Ahead!!! Yippee! Yippee!! Yippee!!! It will be LIGHT when I get home from work! :D

Thanks for posting Haudlady.

Our IS department at work asked us all to print out our calendars for those periods of time to make sure we don't lose anything, then they are going to apply the "microsoft fix", but they expect it will not go smoothly so we'll have to rebuild from our hardcopies. I handle the schedules of 2 executives, plus my own, so I've got my work cut out for me on this one!!

You should also look at the other end of DST, too. I think it's the week of Oct 28-Nov 4. Those calendar entries have probably been affected too.

yep, thanks for the heads up... also I heard that clocks, vcr's etc won't auto update since they weren't programmed for it...

I am just tickled that the time is changing early tho! MORE RIDE TIME! WOOT! :D

There is a Windows patch for Windows 2000 and XP to update the OS time zones. There is also a patch for Win2K and XP for Outlook versions 2000 and newer. It will correct the times in Outlook AFTER you have applied the OS patch.

I can't *wait* to see what ACT does. Every day I want to call a meeting of ACT's developers and slap them up individually with a wet sock.

ACT !?!?!?!? Oh dear. You will have to get in line behind me in reading those guys rhe riot act. Sheesh you can't even READ the screens in that program the type is so small! Give us old folks a break!

I have a l o n g list of complaints about that program. :mad:

I'm avoiding the problem of mis-scheduled appointments that week - I'll be on VACATION! :D

Doing my other hobby where bicycles haven't been invented yet. Going to a big SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism, www.sca.org ) camping event in southern Mississippi. Should get lots of lovely walking exercise hiking around the grounds, in 16th century dress.

I looked for this patch the other day, couldn't seem to find it. DH (computer geek) said "Hon, just relax, there's a patch for that" I thought maybe he meant there WILL be a patch for that.

Do you happen to know the name of the patch so I can find it w/out his help?
