I wasn't able to make it there--curse these six days a week!--but how did everyone else make out?

I made out very well. I bought a Record gruppo for my new bike (if it ever comes). it had 300 miles on it and I know the guy selling it, he takes absolutely the best care of his stuff.
I also got a wool sweater and a crazy cat primal wear jersey and some Orange gloves !! I did GREAT!!!

I bought my husband a pair of clipless pedals for half price. I was also eyeing some panniers and a rack, but had ridden there with a group and didn't know how I was going to carry them back. I had already been chastized by the group for not having a backup innertube (or any knowledge of how to change it, really) and I was not about to sink deeper into the "helpless female" role by taking up their manly offers to carry my stuff upon their broad and hairy backs. I sure wish I had planned better. I'm sure cheap panniers will cross my path another day.
There's a swap coming up in here in Boise on March 2 & 3 (or is it 3 & 4?)
DH asked me, "if you had a road bike, would it have to be new?" when he discovered the swap, and then said, "whaddaya mean you're out of town that weekend?" -- like he hasn't known for months, years even, that I'm in Puyallup, Washington the first weekend in March every year!
Or maybe he did know that I would say "I can't go" . . .

Now, Karen, THAT sounds interesting. You'll be in Puyallup and he's buying you a cool bike. :D :D :D :D

I should probably pick my own bike, Mimi -- he's got interesting ideas about what is and isn't cool to say the least!
Yup, I can wait until later in March to get road wheels! (poor comfort-beast, sitting there waiting for me to have a few minutes on a nice day...)

Karen, you be careful about waiting for a nice day; when I lived in Boise, one day it was too cold to go out and the next day it was in the 90's. I recall spring and fall were almost non-existent!!!

Won't take much: all I want is a DRY day right now! That and free time...

Sounds as if I should have struggled over there...but I think it would have too much temptation :D .
