Anybody else out there doing the NSW Big Ride?

Me and BF are coming across the ditch to do it - it will be our first NSW ride (having done the Great Vic twice).

I'm really starting to look forward to it even though neither of us (especially bf) have spent nearly enough time on the bikes over summer

How's the training going? One less thing for you to worry about - the "Big" hill climb has been taken out for safety reasons. So the hills won't be too bad.

Last night (when I couldn't sleep), I went thru my Big Ride teeshirt stash. It's quite amazing how many vollie teeshirts I managed to collect over the years. At least I'll have heaps of tops to wear while I'm away.
There's a big volunteer meeting held in the city tomorrow morning, where I'll find out more details about the ride and about my "job". There's alot of new management staff, so It'll be interesting to meet them.

I found a catering team photo on my computer - I'm the one standing above the lady in the red vest. The photo is from 2005, but most of the people pictured return every year as a catering volunteer. They are a good crowd to work with.

In the bottom photo, I'm the one serving food in the foreground (with my back to the camera). That photo was taken in Dalgety (2005), where it rained for most of the day.

Happy riding

I am so envious of you guys - it will be a lot of fun.

Not that i should be envious, the reason we cant go is we're heading down to Wangaratta to do the rail trails for a week :D

Enjoy the ride and make sure you tell those of us who have never done it everything we need to know for next year. ... although i probably wont be able to do it in 2008 because of semester 1 at uni :(

there will be some disadvantages to not being a student anymore :(

Wow, that sounds great. I've yet to do a big, multi day event. I have dreams of doing the 2008 Nullabor ride! Might need to start training for that one -oh... now?

Probably should get a decent saddle before then, hey.
