But I had a great swim last night. Hit all my intervals with time to spare and felt like the goofy drills were paying off. I did a pyramid work out..

1x25
1x50
1x75
And on up to 200. You are supposed to come back down the other side but they kicked me out of the pool. So I just cooled down.

I am sure I will not feel this great again next time, so I had to mark the moment.

And since the other people in my life REALLY don't care I had to tell you guys.

DH was supportive, but glazed over at the eyes when I started talking about my interval times. LOL...poor guy.

Hey, I care :)

It's nice to see your times improving. Telling us about your progress is just fine with me :)

It must have rubbed off as i had a nice swim session with our group this morning. Thanks!

When is your next swim session & how long do you spend at the pool? Do you train with others?

->-)0 ^^^^

( i tried to make a person swimming)

Hi CC,
And thanks. I am on my own at the pool. I have input from the coaches at the hs where I teach, and I was coached millions of years ago, so I do ok. I am currently swimming between 1500 and 1800 per session. It takes me between 30 and 45 mins if I do drills. Most of my events will be in the 800 to 1000 yard zone, so I will be fine. I just started back in the pool 8 weeks ago, and I am really enjoying it. It is so nonpoundy after all of the mt biking. It feels nice. My goal is to be able to race 1000 open water in under 18 mins by June. I should have no problem. I have not timed it yet, but I am probably there based on my interval times.

And an added bonus, all of my students that are on the swim team treat me like one of the gang now!

Fun stuff.

Sounds great! Hitting your intervals... and going the distance. Too bad you got kicked out of the pool.

Keep up the amazing work!

I think its awesome that even tho your DH isn't as "enthused" (better choice of wording than "supportive") as you are about your progress you still maintain dedication and drive and a positive attitude.

I say "You go wit' yo' bad sef!" :D (Slang for "congratulations!")

Good job RnR. A good swim always feels fantastic. I love that sensation of things clicking into place and then all of a sudden you've taken 5 to 10 sec off a 100 and it doesn't even feel hard.

I hope you a ton more workouts like it.

In defense of my DH...he is incredibly supportive and runs and rides with me and will get back in the water eventually. He just glazed over at the interval times:)

Hell he has been by my side doing my workouts for the past 6 weeks. If I say it is an easy week, he sticks right by me....

he has been running in the sleet, and freezing rain and biking in 5 degree weather to help me....he just has this thing about getting back in the pool. He is a great swimmer, I do not know what the issue is....

maybe if he does...then I will make him do the race with me!!!!! Ha!
