I'm feeling down these beautiful days, the seemingly endless rain and cold has given way to perfect 20 C weather here in N. Ontario, and I am just sitting watching it. I had a bad cold flu whatever a few weeks ago, missed my sports and cylcling, last Sat went for a short ride and felt not bad, played ball hockey Sunday night, then on Monday morning, my left chest area was on fire, I had pleurisy many years ago, that's what it felt like. After a horrible day at work, finally dragged myself off to the doc, and he said yeah it's pleurisy, take these pills, rest, I have been resting all week, maybe it's a bit better, doesn't feel like my rib is broken anymore, but this weather is so perfect, I feel I could wallow further into this pit of self pity.. upside, I have regular tan lines, sitting out with a book to read, and the oldies station is ok, but I am longing for my bike, baseball, and ball hockey. Maybe today I will be able to do a slow easy ride. Any encouragement will be well taken,I am not often sick and I actually think I feel 53 these last few days... Lori

Lori,
Having had pleurisy, I can empathize! It hurts! Glad to hear its feeling a little better. Sounds like by now, you NEED to get out and ride. LIke you said, try it slow and easy and don't plan on going too far. You'll need to work your way back into activity gradually. But, believe me, you'll be glad you went out once you do it! Even a little bit of exercise will make you feel like you are more alive. You'll know you can do it again and will feel so much better. Trust me.........:D

Hi there,
I know how you feel - having a bad cold myself. I'm coughing and sneezing all over the place, not exactly fun, especially when everybody else is out on the bike enjoying the sunshine.
Just take it easy and go out for a short ride, preferable in the sunshine - and your spirits will lift up. I hope that I'm better next week and do the same.
Don't despair, it could be much worse, it could be snowing! It can only get better from now on!!! Go for a walk, take a little ride and so on. You'll be back in no time!
Good luck!
