It's finally warmed up some, the snow is mostly off the roads but . . . the weather has been very damp and misty. So much so that a half block into my ride yesterday my glasses were covered with water inside and out. I could hardly see at all and finally had to just take off my glasses. When you're as nearsighted as I am, that was not the best option. But I decided that seeing fuzzy was better than not seeing at all!

I've tried the Cat Crap, which works OK for fogging, but does nothing for all this moisture. I was having this problem before it got too cold to ride and now here I am again. What the heck can I do to keep my glasses clear enough to see. I want to ride outside! Other than not being able to see, my commute yesterday was cold, damp and just WONDERFUL. :D bikerHen

Hmmm... I wear contacts but I've been having the same problem with sunglasses, which I always wear on the bike even when it's dark. I recently bought some vented sunglasses (Tifosi Slip) which make a big difference if it's just cold -- they don't fog up at all -- but if it's so cold I must wear a face mask, the hot air forced up from the mask makes them fog. Next really cold day I'm going to try ski goggles. (Amazing how the desire to ride one's bike completely overrides fear of looking like a complete geek).

If you need to wear glasses for nearsightedness I guess the vented route won't be useful to you, but I know they make goggles that go over glasses -- a little fussy but if it works, might be worth a try. I know how frustrating and even scary it can be to fog up in traffic -- and when it's REALLY cold, the condensation freezes so there's no easy way to quickly remove it while riding in traffic.

good luck!

Try a bicycyle cap under your helmet. They have a little bit of a brim and that may be enough to keep the water off your glasses.

I found this one at Performance when I googled bicycle cap.
