I got the following email tonight and was wondering if anyone in the SLC area will be doing this ride this year. I did it last year for the first time. I went out too fast and ended up with lots of leg cramps. It was my first real long ride. I did 78 miles and hope to do that, if not more this year. Anyone else?:)

I'm passing on this one; too much of a crash fest last year, very frustrating and too much erratic riding for me. Though I think that starting about 30 minutes after the crowd starts would make for a much more sane first 30 miles.

But... I'll see you at LRRH, I'm sure. :)

I, too, thought it was a crash fest. But I may do it again this year, but would like to find someone else who is riding. I didn't pace myself very good for the ride out and went too fast. I did the metric century. I rode the ride before the SLC marathon last year and that too was too hectic for me. It felt more like a "race" and many of the testosterone laden were rude if "you got in their way". I rode my heart out, but it wasn't a fun ride.
