All I care about is my birthday, which 2/17! This year DH is taking me to a Zoo with PANDAS!!!!! I have wanted to see pandas for 20+ years, so who really cares about Valentine's day?

I usually bake something for my husband and get him a card. If I get him something it is usually not romantic in the traditional sense. Last year, I got him a Yakima bed head for his truck. Now he can take his bike locked to the fork mount in the truck bed and it doesn't mess up his expensive spray-in bedliner. :D

We are going to be in hawaii with our good friends this year for valetines day. I want to get a sexy something to wear that night for dh. I haven't done that in years. So he won't be expecting it. shhhhh don't tell him!:D

Gestures of friendship to unsuspecting victims... if tastefully done, I approve.

If tastelessly done, maybe :p :p

I'm glad that a friend I don't *quite* have the nerve to do a valentine for has a birthday I *think* on 2/7 so I will be able to be nice with impunity (and he'll be grateful if it's reasonably subtle 'cause it's #60).

I am always leery of surprise anythings...I don't have the temperament for it.

I always hated surprise birthday parties. I started taking my holidays around my birthday so I wouldn't have people 'surprise' me.

That, plus my birthday is at the end of May, so it's a good time to go anyway ;) .

But if you think it will be successful, go for it.

Hubby and I have a special memory of Valentine's Day. It's when our son was conceived, 14 years ago. :)

No cards, no flowers, no candy on Valentine's Day for us. Just a knowing, grateful look across the dinner table as our boy shares with us another of the wonderful things that came to bloom in his vivid imagination.
